Role Overview:

Outside Sales Engineer

  • Territory to Include: Colorado, Washington, California, Utah

The Outside Sales Engineer is responsible for selling products and services using technical, organizational and customer knowledge to drive revenue generation by assisting customers with engineered solutions according to their needs. In addition, the position provides input and participates in the marketing, market planning and technical development of products and services.

Key Responsibilies:

This role will be responsible for establishing sales goals and objectives for the region. Creating and executing the annual sales forecast and be responsible for all key account manager duties within the region. This role will provide leadership in developing sales strategies and roadmaps to acquire and expand existing customer base.

  • Develop and maintain key customer profiles and market intelligence for growth and investment

  • Managing sales and key account activities in the Oil & gas industry

  • Identify new markets/product alignment needs and gaps within CCI product offering

  • Open and close sales opportunities in the region

  • Focus on winning new business to increase the company's market share in key shale plays

  • Deliver technical presentations and proactively sell new products and services to existing clients

  • Continue to build and maintain current stakeholder relationships with local agent partner

  • Key point of contact for clients providing support for sales and operations requirements

  • Coordinate project sales activities with all IMI business segments (NCP, NCOG and AFTMKT) with regional managers and agent partners to insure smooth workflow in meeting demands of the market and customer expectations

  • Sponsor and coordinate local tradeshows and training seminars with various stakeholders in the market including customers, agent partners, local sales agents

  • Manage the process of putting together and delivering tenders and proposals for new and existing customers

  • Responsible for conducting and coordinating local product and compliance training with local agent partners.

Critical Competencies for Success:

  • 8-10 years of sales experience with proven record of revenue growth, or equivalent experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or management is preferred.

  • Aftermarket flow control sales experience including spare parts, services, and repairs is preferred. Equivalent sales experience in similar industries is acceptable.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, clients, and potential customers.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), as well as Outlook.

  • Proficient in Sales Software/CRM(SFDC) tools. Salesforce is a plus.

  • Previous experience with Miller Heiman methodology is a plus.
