This position specializes in creating and maintaining partnerships with agencies that work with different age groups ranging from K-12 to Older Adults on behalf of the Digital Express at MCC. The Specialist builds relationships with agency partners that work with these populations to create a bridge to MCC Digital Express.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:

Older Adult Populations.

1.Develops and presents workshops on topics that are geared for a wide range of ages to include, but not limited to: online safety and how to protect yourself from identity theft and fraud, understanding household technology, surviving the online form migration, how to make technology work for you during retirement, Zoom and Facetime tricks to connect, etc.

2.Creates and presents workshops equitably within partner agency spaces.

3.Brings technology and resources to community agencies and present the information in a way that meets the needs of the population.

4.Create and present workshops within the Digital Express to drive participation in on-campus programming.

5.Works with community agencies to determine workshop and programming needs and design programming based off the current community need.

6.Creates hand-outs with workshop information for attendees to keep.

7.Maintains data as directed to by supervisor.

8.Promotes Digital Express to faculty, staff and students by assisting with special events and giving presentations.

9.Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.

K-12 Populations.

1.Develops and presents workshops, create physical and online resources to assist high school parents to better understand how to utilize the Learning Management Systems utilized by Omaha K-12 Schools. Conducts in-person and online workshops and record tutorial videos, etc.

2.Works to determine a plan for in-person and online, K-12 tutoring services. Works with other program staff to create awareness of necessary tools/resources and curriculum supports to effectively tutor K-12 students.

3.Works with Omaha K-12 School partners to advertise the K-12 tutoring partnerships with area schools.

4.Attends high school parent sessions at local high schools to drive parent and K-12 population engagement within the Digital Express space.

5.Helps develop K-12 Information Technology (IT) program partnerships for K-12 students utilizing the Digital Express for IT skill acquisition during instructional breaks and/or over summer months.

6.Maintains data as directed to by supervisor.

7.Promotes Digital Express to faculty, staff and students by assisting with special events and giving presentations.

8.Work with Omaha K-12 School partners to advertise the K-12 tutoring partnerships with area schools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

1.Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows software and skill in operating a personal computer. Previous knowledge of utilizing programs/software to record videos helpful.

2.Skill in interpersonal communications and developing partnerships.

3.Skill in organization, time management and prioritization.

4.Ability to use active listening skills to answer questions and problem solve, and converse on the telephone and in person with employees, vendors and students.

5.Ability to write and maintain accurate records.

6.Ability to pay close attention to detail.

7.Ability to work well with minimal supervision in a team-oriented environment.

8.Ability to maintain professionalism, patience and understanding in stressful situations.

9.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Required Qualification

High School diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year of related experience.

Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with adult learners and/or with a diverse population of learners preferred.

Knowledge of learning assistance techniques strongly desired.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary/Hourly Rate $16.43 minimum

Schedule: 28 hours per week; schedule will flex to include evening hours to meet the needs of he community programs as well as some day hours for business needs.

Ability to travel between campuses for meetings or position responsibilities.
