We are currently accepting qualified applications for an Outreach Program Coordinator Technician to support one of our Government clients at Aberdeen, MD.
Work Description:
  • Coordinates day-to-day operations of ARL outreach program.
  • Coordinates internal communications, encouraging information and knowledge transfer across groups.
  • Develops linkages with Federal and non-Federal Agencies that provide Science and Technology interface.
  • Coordinates target populations access to ARL services.
  • Provides support to the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) program.
  • Initiates outreach to the target population using telephone, mail and visits in the community.
  • Coordinates and integrates activities inside and outside the organization.
  • Provides input to program plans providing best of current successful projects to stimulate
  • development and improvement of programs.
  • Provides expert presentations and briefings on all aspects of outreach activities.
  • Oversees implementation of program marketing plans to ensure an integrated communication
  • strategy for the outreach program.
  • Monitors program progress toward organizational goals and makes suggestions to improved
  • Stays abreast of all programs and presentations related to the outreach program.
  • Recommends new approaches designed to make the outreach program desirable to Federal and
  • Non Federal Agencies.
  • Develops recommendations of minimum standards to incorporate new services into existing programs.
  • Ensures safe environment for outreach program facility.
  • Promptly reports workplace accidents to the Safety Manager.
  • Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on professionalism and courtesy.
  • Supports internal and external customers and communicates positively in a professional manner.
  • Work schedule may fluctuate to complete work assignments outside of the typical work week and work hours. May travel to complete work assignments or attend conferences and meetings.
  • Provides on-the-job training to other contractor personnel.
Education/Experience Requirement:
  • Bachelors Degree with two (2) years of specialized experience in program coordination; OR four (4) years of specialized experience demonstrating the ability to identify significant factors, gathering pertinent data, monitoring programs, preparing and presenting technical information, and interacting with the public and one (1) year of experience that shows particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully in the duties of the position.
  • Working knowledge of the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Founded in 1985, IEM works with government agencies and private sector organizations around the world. We are currently seeking a Public Outreach Specialist to be located in Aberdeen, MD. The specialist will provide timely and accurate strategic communications support as a government contractor to an organization under the Department of Defense. Specifically, this position will perform videography, as well as assist with photography, social media, news writing, crisis communications and special events tasks, that promote the clients mission, goals and objectives for both internal and external stakeholders. As part of the videography responsibilities, the specialist will develop video concepts and schedules, gather footage, identify and interview subject matter experts, produce video scripts and edit video using a non-linear video editing software. Additionally, the specialist will create social media content to accompany videos and develop innovative and creative content for daily postings on social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The specialist will also gather dynamic action-oriented photographs for use with social media, news articles and briefings. Additionally, the specialist will support events such as public meetings, information booths, plant tours, presentations and media engagements, as needed. Knowledge of Associated Press Style writing is desired. Prior experience with video live streaming platforms, such as Facebook and YouTube, is a plus. IEM is seeking an individual who can multitask, balancing numerous projects efficiently and effectively, and deliver quality products and services against strict deadlines. The candidate must possess exceptional written and visual communication skills. This person must also have the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients by cultivating an atmosphere of trust through actively listening to the client/customer and responding to identified needs. Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in broadcasting, communications, public relations or journalism * 3+ years of relevant experience Required Skills: * Experience shooting video with professional camcorders * Experience with non-linear video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and After Effects * Experience shooting photographs with DSLR platform * Experience with photograph editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop * Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Experience balancing schedules and meeting deadlines * Meticulous attention to detail with both visual and written products * Excellent storytelling skills * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills * Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills * Strong organizational skills You must be able to produce samples of your work.
