Coordinate, develop, and enhance relationships with LMC medical practices and other area medical practices. Work with Medical Director of Laboratory, Administrative Laboratory Director, Pathologists, Laboratory Leadership, and Laboratory Staff to communicate needs and concerns of clients and patients.
Provide information and education to clients' staffs regarding appropriate test utilization, proper completion of requisitions, medical necessity requirements, and specimen collection processes. Serve as primary contact for Outreach/Outpatient Lab client and/or patient concerns. Create, maintain, and evaluate databases to demonstrate client utilization patterns and business.
Serve as primary liaison to Patient Accounting to develop billing procedures and resolve Outreach/Outpatient Lab client and patient laboratory billing issues. Market and cultivate new client relationships to increase outreach laboratory business.
Bachelor's degree in business or health care field or equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of relevant medical laboratory operational or clinical client service experience
Demonstrated knowledge of medical laboratory operations and billing practices
Experience with billing compliance for lab service
Superior knowledge of CPT and ICD coding
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all regulatory and compliance requirements for laboratory operations and billing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of gathering and quantifying quality assurance and customer service metrics
Ability to work efficiently on an independent basis
MT/MLS or MLT certification/licensure by a national or governmental body
