Work Status: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Typical work schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 7:00am-5:30pm

Evening and weekend work will be required, and the normal work schedule will be altered to accommodate the change in work hours as needed.

OACAC Family Planning provides all people with quality sexual reproductive health care by equipping them with information and affordable access to services. We strive to provide timely appointments in a welcoming and inclusive environment to ensure patients have confidential access to services.

The Outreach and Education Coordinator with Family Planning is a grant funded position through The Right Time Grant through the end December 2027 with potential for long term extension.  This position requires clinical knowledge/experience or the willingness to be trained and the ability to provide outreach and educational services in a small or large group setting.  This position is perfect for someone with an outgoing and creative mindset that is willing to work independently to ensure growth of services through community outreach and by providing education to patients, community members and referrals sources.  This position requires someone with innovative thinking, high personal work ethic, personal accountability skills and ability to professional communicate in a variety of settings.   The purpose of this position is to further the scope of services and improve outreach services for growth of Family Planning Services through The Right Time Grant (TRT). 

Travel will be required within the Springfield area and outside communities to include areas within Greene County, Lawrence County, Polk County and Taney County specifically to provide outreach to areas participating in The Right Time Grant.  Mileage will be reimbursed per OACAC policy. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITY:

 Knowledge of and comfort with Family Planning theory, methods and practices.

Training and/or willingness to learn in basic medical care, medical assisting, injections, phlebotomy and medication dispensing.

Experience and/or willingness to learn medical records keeping, electronic medical record systems and medical terminology.Passion for Family Planning practices and access to all methods of contraceptive for all individuals.Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public relations work, as related to outreach and education activities by means of verbal, written and visual presentation, including the marketing and promotion of said outreach/events.

Ability to work flexible working hours, in total of 40 hours per week, with evening and weekend work as required.Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately, orally and in writing with various individuals and in small and large group settings while embracing diversity and demonstrate the ability to work together.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of individuals including; employees, community groups, educators, school children, parents, civic associations and the general public as necessitated by the work.Ability to prepare and maintain required reports and records.  Ability to develop visual aids and other instructional materials to meet specific training needs.  Ability to communicate effectively both written (reports, letters, documents) and orally.Knowledge of clerical skills and ability to operate various software programs, such as; word-processing, spreadsheets, and medical records database.A high school diploma or GED required.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of Medical Assistant Certification is preferred.Possession of a valid Missouri driver’s license and appropriate vehicle insurance
