The Children's Advocacy Center of Lawrence County, Inc. is hiring an Outpatient Trauma Therapist to join the team! This full-time role will work flexible hours Monday through Friday with no travel required. Candidates who have worked with children who have experienced child abuse are encouraged to apply!

Purpose:

Provides on-site therapeutic services to children, adolescents and their nonoffending family members and adult survivors who have been direct or indirect victims of physical and/or sexual abuse, neglect, and/or who have witnessed family violence. Therapist will use a trauma informed model for therapeutic services.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in regular multidisciplinary team meetings Makes appropriate psychological and psychosocial referrals. Prepares and maintains all treatment records, reports, and statistics.

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of counseling interventions and client progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards goals. Adapts and modifies interventions as necessary and developmentally appropriate. Participates in clinical supervision.

  • Conducts trauma assessment through interviews and observations. Facilitates individual, family and group therapy sessions. Possesses cultural competency working with high-risk low-income families.

  • Maintains current knowledge related to new developments in the trauma field and engages in courses and trainings required to maintain licensure. Provides in-home consultation as needed on matters of childhood mental health/behavioral health and victimization. Supports and serves the ongoing interest of the agency and the system.

  • Administers and interprets trauma assessment instruments for child and adolescent victims. Collaboratively develops treatment plans for victims and survivors. Facilitates trauma focused therapeutic groups for children and adolescents.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in social work or counseling with the ability to obtain professional licensure in the state of Pennsylvania. Knowledge and experience in infant/toddler mental health, child and adult victimization, trauma and diverse treatment modalities. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and counseling skills. Ability to use communication skills that are appropriate for the intended audience. Proficient in the use of the internet and email. Ability to conduct discussions, interviews and meetings. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Willingness to travel. Willingness to attend training on new modalities, practices and/or applications. Ability to maintain professional boundaries.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Child CPR required.

  • Automotive Insurance

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

  • Driver's License

  • Act 33 with renewal

  • Act 34 with renewal

  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
