Leads all operations and activities in outpatient physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech-language pathology including, but not limited to, team member performance and evaluations, student affiliations, quality assurance, process improvement, project/program management, the acquisition of necessary supplies and equipment and strategic input related to budgets and facilities.

Job Description

Participates in the development of departmental goals and organizational structure. This may include career ladders, specialization and growth inside and outside of the department.

Selects, trains, orients and provides overall supervision of assigned personnel, to include corrective action and positive recognition where appropriate.

Develops, recommends, implements and enforces operating policy, systems and procedures.

Reviews and evaluates performance and recommends personnel actions such as merit increases, promotions and disciplinary actions.

Supervises, justifies, monitors and adheres to the departmental budget both for staffing and financial expenditures. Guides scheduling to ensure appropriate and consistent coverage for patient care services within scope of duties.

Addresses a multitude of staff, customer complaints and suggestions and brings to resolution. Creates and sustains a collaborative multidisciplinary team working with internal and external constituents.

Responsible for developing new process improvements, innovations and initiatives related to rehabilitation services for RMC supporting quality care and fiscally responsible operations.

Ensures patients are properly evaluated and treated and that care is appropriately documented.

Performs other miscellaneous and related duties as assigned, to include, but not limited to, support of other areas of rehab, wellness and hospital operations.

Works in coordination with and at the direction of the Director, Rehabilitation Services.

Additional Job Description

Must have an active license to practice physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology in the state of South Carolina (PT, PTA, OT, OTA, SLP). At least a Master's Degree in either the individual's discipline or a Master's degree in business, leadership, change management or healthcare (MHA, MBA, etc). Doctorate is preferred (DPT, OTD, DHA, etc). Two years clinical experience and three years supervisory experience preferred.
