OUTPATIENT THERAPIST

ABOUT THE ROLE

Our Outpatient Therapists for this position provides care to those served as part of our co-occurring disorders treatment team to individuals with co-morbid substance use and mental health diagnoses. We provide level of care assessment, individual and group psychotherapy to adults and work to incorporate the strengths of their supports in their environments to maintain their recovery efforts in the community. We're looking for confident clinicians accustomed to evaluating, planning, and providing compassionate services, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, dual recovery, and partial hospitalization programs; plus all related documentation and case management work.

RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's Degree in Human/Social Services with one (1) year clinical experience preferably diagnosing and treating behavioral and psychiatric conditions.

  • Knowledge of psychiatric evaluation and assessment process, as well as application of current version of the DSM required.

  • Act 33/34/73 Clearances

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screen

  • Child Protective Services Law training

Work Schedule: This is a Exempt (Salary) position

Primarily Monday

  • Friday mostly daylight 9:00 am

  • 5:00 pm with some evening to meet the needs of those served. Schedule will be flexed to not work over 37.5 hours per week.

The Behavioral Health Outpatient RN manages and provides client care activities for a group of persons served and their families through independent judgement, communication and collaboration with all team members and establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians and other Ambulatory Team health care providers, persons served and their significant others to achieve desires outcomes throughout the continuum of care. We offer comprehensive team based care to include on site medication management, tele-psychiatry, individual and group therapy. ABOUT YOU The Behavioral Health Outpatient Nurse must be able to act and respond appropriately and independently, using obtained experience and education, in sometimes unpredictable situations, managing aspects of the client's medication care services and will champion their duties using Pittsburgh Mercy's philosophy, policies, procedures and goals.
