The Outpatient Registrar will work closely with Emergency Department. This candidate will function as a Registrar; this candidate will register and admit incoming emergency room patients/and or direct admits.

Ensure that EMTALA and JCAHO regulations are properly followed. Candidate will occasionally have to cover an alternate shift due to department demands.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED); One (1) year prior registration experience in hospital or physician office (Preferably in the Emergency Department); Proficient with third party insurance verification and familiarity of TPA web portals.

Facility: Grace Medical Center (formerly Bon Secours Baltimore Hospital) is the first hospital built by the Sisters of Bon Secours in the United States.

After 100 years of operation, the hospital is now a LifeBridge Health facility, along with a primary care practice and two behavioral health facilities in the West Baltimore community. Grace Medical Center offers emergency care, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, renal dialysis and diagnostic services. Offsite locations provide primary care, drug treatment and outpatient behavioral health services.

Collects all deposits, deductibles, copays or self-pay portions as applicable. Accurate documentation isrequired at 100%. Adheres to the MedStar Health Financial Assistance Policy and Procedures. Followsestablished Cash Reconciliation policy guidelines. Confirms insurance coverage. Obtains authorizations by utilizing online electronic verification system, or otherresources, such as, HDX, EVS or Blueline. Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to departmentpolicies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditationregulations. Ensures that all necessary questionnaires and specific forms are completed according to predeterminedrequirements by government or regulatory agencies or hospital policies. Completes ABN process throughregistration system as needed, explains to patient as required. Explains regulatory financial requirements to the patient or responsible party. Complies with Marylandreimbursement and regulatory requirements and state regulations regarding insurance. Completes MSPquestionnaire, Medicare letter to inpatients. Interviews patients, families, or outside sources to obtain complete and accurate demographic and financialinformation and inputs data into system for registration, billing, and patient tracking.
