With 685 beds, we are home to the only comprehensive Burn and Level I Trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in California!

We have an 84-bed Level III NICU and plan to significantly expand pediatric specialty care.

Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants.

Responsibilities

Provides ancillary/technical assistance to the Pharmacist in an Ambulatory Care setting to support medication distribution to patients. Responsibilities include processing orders, billing, packaging, and selling prescription medications.

Also, assists in maintaining medication stock. Accountabilities 1. Obtains necessary patient demographic information including insurance coverage and accurately enters into patient profile.2.

Processes incoming orders electronically and solves third party payment issues, calling insurance companies as necessary.3. Packages prescriptions accurately and prepares them for pharmacist review in a timely and organized manner.4. Maintains and operates the automation robot according to guidelines.5.

Provides phone queue coverage by handling and routing calls in a professional and efficient manner.6. Enters transfer prescription requests for pharmacists review.7. Helps customers at both the incoming and outgoing windows by accurately identifying patients according to guidelines and providing excellent customer service within the scope of practice.8.

Maintains drug stock to ensure there are no expired or damaged medications. Stocks shelves as required.9. Takes part in the quality assurance program to improve workflow and reduce medication errors.10.

Returns medications not picked up to stock.11. Assists in the training and mentoring of Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician students.12.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required Experience• Bilingual (English/Spanish) conversational skills preferred Licenses and Certifications• RXTECH - State of California Pharmacy Technician License required• CPHT - Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred
