Deliverables/Principal Results Expected:

  • Assists facilities in the overall function of daily schedule including but not limited to: assessment, utilization review, and clinical services.
  • Provides individual and group therapy to individuals served in treatment.
  • Assists with completion of client intake assessments.
  • Trained in all working processes of utilization reviews and completes insurance reviews as needed. Attends shift change and company meetings.
  • Maintains caseload as needed.
  • Assists the Director in covering needed services for the facility.
  • Clerical duties as required for maintenance of client files.
  • Listens to clients concerning all areas of treatment.
  • Maintains safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment for clients including crisis intervention.
  • Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education, Experience:

  • A Masters Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services field) or other related field.
  • A Bachelors Degree with the same educational requirements and 1 year of clinical experience.
  • An Associates Degree with the same educational requirements and 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide certification body, which is a member of a National certification body or certification by another state governments substance abuse counseling certification board.
  • Current licensure in this Commonwealth as a physician.
  • Current licensure in this Commonwealth as a registered nurse and a degree from an accredited school of nursing and 1 year of counseling experience.

*Facilitating process group therapy, individual therapy and family therapy. Drug and Alcohol/Mental Health experience. Treatment planning experience.

Technical Competencies:

Capable of role modeling to the clients. Helps to maintain strong clinical program. Able to work together with staff to effectively meet the needs of the clients. Maintains positive relationship with referral sources and families. Charts maintain compliance with Licensing regulations. Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours. Strong clinical skills in D&A and mental health treatment. A working knowledge of HIPAA, DDAP, RTFA and CARF regulations.

In our 60-bed chemical dependency unit, detoxification is conducted under close medical supervision. The team of physicians and our around-the-clock nursing staff provide the needed assessment and care. The Recovery Program offers a professional approach to the treatment of chemical dependencies. Our treatment team includes Certified Addictions Counselors, Masters and Bachelors level clinicians, and nurses. Roxbury also has an acute psychiatric unit treating individuals with mental illnesses who need short-term hospitalization. This program specializes in treating adult patients who are suffering from co-occurring disorders; mental illness and substance use/abuse issues. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program. An acute psychiatric unit treating adolescents between the ages of 13 - 17 is currently in operation at Roxbury Treatment Center. Staffed with mental health techs and nurses around the clock, our Chief Medical Officer and psychiatrists oversee this cutting edge psychiatric treatment program helping teens deal with mental illness and co-occurring disorders. Roxbury also has two outpatient offices, one in Carlisle and one in Chambersburg, for outpatient substance use disorder programs. We are currently recruiting a per diem Outpatient Counselor to work afternoons and evenings, on an as needed basis, in both offices. Job Summary: The Outpatient Counselor completes a multidisciplinary biopsychosocial history and assesses the patient's drug and alcohol history, establishes treatment goals and provides therapeutic and educational services in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Roxbury Treatment Center. Education And Experience: Master's Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in Psychology or other related field which includes a practicum in health or human service agency required. Licensure/Certification: PA Certified Addiction Counselor or Associate Additions Counselor II, preferred. Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of group leadership and counseling skills, 12 Step Program and/or Smart Recovery Program, psychopathology, cognitive-behavioral model, case management, crisis and behavior management.
