JOB SUMMARY:

The Outcomes Analyst III reports to the Director of the Cancer Service Line and is responsible for providing data query, analysis and programming expertise to drive improvement activities, ensuring that data are accurate, meaningful, and easily interpreted, and accessible to end users.

This position supports quality initiatives and analysis projects that drive the strategic priorities of the Sutter Medical through oversight of clinical, process, and business data collection to meet program analysis and reporting requirements as defined. This position will liaise across various departments across Sutter including: Primary Care Departments, Specialty Departments, IT, Epic, Pharmacy, and RI.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in health sciences, information systems, computer science, business, biostatistics or a related field is required, OR equivalent education/experience.

  • Masters Degree in healthcare administration, epidemiology, information systems, computer science or related field is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare outcomes/IT field required.

Expertise in SQL query and data manipulation/transformation, and knowledge of reporting tools required, as well as experience developing reports and queries.

Superior experience in SQL Enterprise Server, Server Management Studio, Business Objects/SAP, Midas Statit, Analysis Service and Reporting Service.
5 years of progressive experience in the medical outcomes/decision support analysis

Minimum of 3 years of SQL Enterprise Server, evidence of data query and manipulation required.

Experience in all or most of the following areas is desired: utilizing database tools for research and analysis; building and maintaining clinical metrics/data models; using statistical techniques to provide information solutions; utilizing decision support tools in a healthcare environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Analytic skills and ability to understand clinical data, the results of queries, to validate and confirm results and troubleshoot and resolve data quality issues is required.

Additional knowledge and demonstrated use as source data of electronic and/or medical records systems (especially Epic/Clarity), quality improvement, Lean, and/or healthcare clinical operations is essential.

Excellent communication skills required, as well as the ability to translate clinical user needs into technical data and metrics, and explain technical information to non-technical end users.

Proven expertise in working with physicians/clinical operations in defining clinical metrics and developing reports to meet their requirements. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in multidisciplinary teams is required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access specifically).

Job Summary Regional Cancer Center Ambulatory Services and Infusion Unit This position offers the opportunity to deliver care in the clinic and infusion areas of a thriving multi-specialty medical oncology/hematology community cancer practice. The Physician Assistant in this environment is part of a dynamic team focused on the coordination and delivery of chemotherapy and supportive therapies. UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APP) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governances (OMAG) in order to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Medical Center sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
