QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree required
Bachelor degree in Education preferred
Completed district employment application
Must pass a background check
Valid Montana Teaching Certificate
Class 7 Native American Language and Culture certificate
Must be able to successfully complete performance responsibilities listed below
Any other qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and/or acceptable
Potential Projected Contracted Salaried Compensation for a Certified Teaching position with LDPS: $38,464 - $73,151

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary, benefits, and work year to be established by negotiations with the School Board.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated, annually and in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluations.

Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment
JOB GOAL:
Establish, update, and maintain cultural curriculum. Assist students with independent and relevant research related to cultural awareness. Serve as primary contact and coordinator for all requested Cultural performances and events. Create and assist with Cultural activities.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but not limited to the following):
Instruct pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law, administrative regulations, and procedures of the school district
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials, and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom
Evaluate pupils’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports
Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school program
Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems
Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and self-selected professional growth activities
Select and requisition books and instructional aide
Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
Administer group standardized tests in accordance with District testing program
Participate in curriculum development programs as required
Participate in faculty committees and the sponsorship of pupil activities
