The Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine (ICOM) is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as an Osteopathic (OPP) Faculty. As Idaho's first medical school, ICOM is committed to training osteopathic physicians to provide quality care to individuals in Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and beyond. With a mission to address the shortage of physicians, ICOM has attracted a well-qualified faculty and student body, providing the necessary resources and services to effectively train physicians for 21st Century medicine.

As an Osteopathic (OPP) Faculty member, you will play a key role in educating and mentoring future physicians. You will be responsible for delivering lectures, leading hands-on workshops, and providing clinical guidance to students. Additionally, you will contribute to curriculum development and assessment, ensuring the integration of osteopathic principles and practices throughout the educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate interactive discussions on osteopathic principles and practices, including anatomy, physiology, musculoskeletal anatomy, osteopathic philosophy and theoretical foundations of osteopathy.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and supervise students in osteopathic manipulative treatment techniques.
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, advising them on career paths, research opportunities and other academic matters.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials and assessment methods, incorporating emerging trends and evidence-based practices.
  • Participate in committees and meetings to contribute to academic program development and assessment.

Requirements

  • A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current board certification in a relevant specialty.
  • A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
  • Expertise in osteopathic manipulative treatment techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively teach and mentor students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based medicine and lifelong learning.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment is desirable.
  • Eligibility for an Idaho medical license.
