Your Impact

Pearce Services seeks a skilled OSP Engineer who is responsible for BAU road move projects. This position is responsible for conflict identification and conflict resolution associated with Frontier Obligatory Road Move Projects within the Texas Market. The position requires a working-level knowledge of OSP engineering, including OSP Design for fiber and copper networks, interacting with municipalities, and permitting. The successful candidate is responsible for identifying conflicts and resolutions for road moves by designing an OSP (Outside Plant) telecommunications network, including copper and fiber; aerial, buried, and underground networks.

Core Responsibilities

• Field/Design OSP BAU work orders to include road move projects, aerial work, and permitting.

• Work with state/local/federal DOT and the various utilities to plan the necessary telecom relocation plan. Working with DOT schematics, visit the "field," document the current telecom facilities, and design the "solution" plan in concert with the DOT plans.

• Work with Communication's Planning, Right of Way, Construction, and Central Office Teams to coordinate project design/implementation.

• Prepare cost estimates for installation, rearrangement or removal of outside plant facilities.

• Work with Frontier OSP Planning, Construction, Project Management, as needed.

• Meet and communicate with Developers at construction sites, customers, etc.

• Local travel may be required. Pearce to reimburse mileage expense.

• Capable of managing their workload and prioritizing multiple field engineering assignments

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications

• Good organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

• Ability to learn new technical systems and tools

Core Experience

• 3-5+ years of experience in copper and fiber-optic/telecommunications/telecom engineering and design including Road Move Projects.

• Knowledge of outside plant activities (copper and fiber cable design; aerial/pole line, buried and underground design/construction)

• Proven ability to read and understand DOT schematics, identify conflicts with existing outside plant facilities, and select routing of lines and equipment required for projects

• Knowledge permitting with state and local municipalities

• Familiar with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), ESRI, and shapefile functionality

• Ability to resolve problems following standard practices, using judgment within defined policies and guidelines

• Knowledge of general city, county, state, and road move design application processes is preferred

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Optional:

• Experience with Frontier systems knowledge : Frogs, Varasset, Infinium
• OSP Telecom Construction experience

Compensation: $38.00 hourly
