This position is responsible for assembly and disassembly of various Tempress tools for shipment to customers.


  • Abide by all Oil States Energy Services LLC. Safety and Operational Policy and Procedures.

  • Receive tools and log the rental information

  • Disassemble the tools using a hydraulic torque bench

  • Clean tools in a parts cleaner and with wire brush

  • Inspect disassembled components using precision measurement tools and log data

  • Rebuild tools according to specifications.

  • Prepare shipping documents and log data

  • Inspect incoming new parts.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.



o Tool Technician I: Perform Essential Duties and Responsibilities for 6 months minimum.

o Tool Technician II or Shift Lead: Tool Technician I plus perform the following for 6 months minimum:

  • May perform customer site equipment audits.

  • May train and mentor other Shop Technician I or II.

  • Participate in management strategy meetings to improve database, shop policy change implementation and safety.

  • Exhibit competency in redress, inspection, shipping/receiving in all product lines, including HydroPull, Motor Gas Separator, Water Bypass Sub, JetRotor.

  • Ability to exhibit leadership and management potential to manage a shift as a Shift Lead.

o Tool Technician - III or Lead Tool Technician: Tool Technician II plus perform the following for 18 months minimum.

  • Assist engineering with assembly and testing of new products or procedures.

  • Maintain facility and test equipment.

  • Work with supervisors and other technicians to maintain smooth workflow and a neat and safe environment.

  • May travel to train operators on the use of tools

  • Input Shop Reports in Access independently.

  • Maintain an ongoing understanding of Company pricing structure.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and office administration on key shop related issues effecting Company operations.

  • Ability to exhibit leadership and management potential to act as a Shop Lead in charge of Shift Leads.

  • Ability to participate in the management and support of the Management Review Board (MRB).

  • Evaluate Tool Technicians I, II, or III for competency in all product lines, including HydroPull, Motor Gas Separator, Water Bypass Sub, JetRotor and train as necessary to achieve competency.

  • May perform re-work of specialized components on the mill and lathe.

  • May travel to wellsite to train operators on the use of tools.


  • Must have hands-on experience with basic dimensional equipment.

  • Must possess a general working knowledge of hand, power, and pneumatic tools to safely handle heavy tooling and parts.

  • Basic knowledge of equipment and facilities maintenance procedures.

  • Must possess a valid US Passport or be able to obtain one.

  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

  • Must have basic problem solving skills.

  • Must have basic math skills.

  • Must have basic computer and documentation skills.

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays or on call as needed.

  • Must be able to work well individually, in teams and or in groups. Must be able to rapidly adapt to changes and demands based upon workflow.


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, occasionally lift 75 pounds. Anything over 75 pounds requires use of crane or forklift.

  • Candidate will demonstrate the ability to lift a 50 lb. weight object from various levels.

  • Candidate will show the ability to exert 100 lbs. of vertical pull force from overhead to waist level.

  • Candidate will show the mobility to lift and move a 50 lb. dumbbell utilizing various motions and positions.

  • Must be physically capable of working in awkward positions for prolonged periods

  • Accident hazard can involve severe cuts and bruises Exposure to shop contaminates such as oils, chemical cleaners and paint dust.

  • Extensive bending, lifting, climbing, sitting, pushing, pulling and standing for long periods of time

  • Exposure to loud noise including both high and low decibels, vibration & bright lights

VIEW JOBS 3/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-11T00:00 General Summary This position is responsible for performing basic to advanced maintenance functions, procedures, activities and responsibilities associated with working on gas compression packages under general guidance. Duties include learning from and assisting other senior level technicians with servicing, troubleshooting, installation, and commissioning of both gas fired and electric driven compressor packages. The purpose of the Service Technician II level is to acquire proficiency in performing advanced maintenance, new equipment installation, and overhaul actions with limited supervision that will allow for progression to the Sr. Service Technical level. Principle Duties & Responsibilities * Represents the company in a professional manner at all times while providing outstanding customer service that aligns with Enerflex visions and values. * Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily. * Responsible for providing basic leadership and training to new Field Technicians. * Independently diagnose engine/compressor failures accurately and efficiently. * All duties and responsibilities could include a large amount of (multi state) travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays. * Provides input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning. * Ability to complete, accurate, and timely rebuilds/overhauls of compressors, engines and controls on gas compressor packages in the field in adverse conditions with limited to no supervision. * Responsible for accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, and Altronic. * Responsible for accurately competing basic engine tuning functions to adjust engine performance and emissions on multiple major OEM's (CAT/Waukesha) * Possess knowledge and ability to respond and repair recurring problems and emergency services as needed independently. * Ability to independently assist installation of new units including commissioning and start-up inspections with little to no supervision accurately. * Knowledge and ability to perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and other specialty tools independently. * Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs. * Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies that are applicable to each location. * Other Duties assigned by supervisor.
