You will lead the market development strategy and execution for AWS as the OSDU Business Development Leader. The Open Group Open Subsurface Data Universe Forum is developing a standard data platform for the oil and gas industry, which will reduce silos and put data at the center of the subsurface community. AWS is committed to this industry initiative, and you will drive the world wide adoption of the AWS OSDU data platform.
Your responsibilities will include defining and implementing a global go-to-market strategy for the AWS OSDU data platform. You will interact directly with executive stakeholders in the industry to drive interest and adoption of AWS as the primary cloud provider of OSDU solutions. You will also play a key role in developing an ecosystem of partners; helping them to understand the value of migrating their existing products to the AWS implementation of OSDU, or helping them to build new cloud-native solutions on AWS. Through OSDU, AWS will help operators shorten the exploration and development cycle time, reduce portfolio risk, and transform the industry.
The right candidate will possess a technical Sales, Marketing or Product Management background of and possess the executive presence to interact at the highest levels with our customers and the OSDU consortium. They will be deeply familiar with complex legacy IT and software environments found in the Oil & Gas industry as well as new cloud-native digital environments. He/she should also be a self-starter who is prepared to own, define, develop and execute a business plan and consistently deliver on goals while thinking strategically about long term customer outcomes. They will be respected in the industry and have a deep understanding of the Upstream domain, its business and technical workflows, and its software ecosystem.
Roles & Responsibilities
Working backwards from customers, and in collaboration with the AWS Oil & Gas team, develop the AWS OSDU strategy and drive success with customers and partners.
Own the solutions roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and success of OSDU on AWS.
Work directly with the most senior levels of Oil & Gas customers to drive adoption of OSDU on AWS. Work with account managers to develop and close customer opportunities.
Engage with Business Development, Solutions Architects, Account Managers, and Professional Services to define a customer engagement strategy, target account list, and revenue forecast.
Develop field enablement content, materials, and demos for OSDU.
Demonstrate leadership in the Upstream space and represent AWS at Global industry events, conferences, and symposiums.
Partner with the AWS Oil & Gas Solutions Builder team to establish solution requirements based on demand articulated from customers
Must be able to travel approximately 40% of time.
This position must be based out of the Amazon office in Houston, TX.
