Overview

Concentra, one of the largest health care companies in the nation, is looking for an orthopedic surgeon to provide specialty consulting services to our team as a 1099 independent consultant. Concentra Advanced Specialists assist in the management of medically complex patients, expedite return to work and functional restoration.

Working collaboratively with medical and therapy providers, you will provide specialist services, both non-surgical and surgical, for orthopedic and neuromusculoskeletal work related injuries. In addition, you will communicate with employers and take an active role in the case management. The treatments you provide will make a tremendous difference in the lives of those who look to us for care and comfort.

Responsibilities

Half a day per week or biweekly

Flexible scheduling with consideration of your private practice

This position is an independent contractor role for Concentra. Compensation for services is determined by a revenue share model.

Qualifications

Preferred experience in treating patients with work related injuries

Licensure requirements of the state of practice

Graduate of accredited MD or DO program of accredited university

Unrestricted DEA license for state of jurisdiction

Board Certification or eligibility in Orthopedic Surgery

Based in Modesto, SGMF provides quality medical care, health education and research activities in a five-county area. SGMF's medical staff includes family practitioners, internists and pediatricians, as well as a range of specialist physicians. Services include imaging, nuclear medicine, a health library, health education programs, occupational medicine, diabetes education, nutrition counseling, infertility counseling, and weight management. Provides orthopedic technician care to the patients of Sutter Gould Medical Foundation. Assist the Orthopedic Physician, Podiatry and participates in the patient care plan, to include but not limited to casting, splinting, and in the post op care regimen. Travel to various locations may be required. (Modesto, Podiatry, & Tracy) MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma; OR, equivalent education / experience. * 3-5 years' experience in the following: Skills in application of casts and splints, wound care and assisting in the operating room such as would be gained in an orthopedic setting. * National Certification as an Orthopedic Technician is required or ability to become certification eligible and obtain within 1 year. * Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HP). * Travel to various locations may be required. Preferred Skills: * Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Ortho technician Skills and Knowledge (Intermediate Proficiency) * Knowledge of basic surgical anatomy and physiology. * Knowledge of what constitutes a medical emergency requiring a physician's attention. * Knowledge of scope of practice of an Orthopedic Technician. * Knowledge of application, removal, and adjustment of casts and splints. * Knowledge of application of soft goods, both custom, and non-custom. * The ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. * Well-developed phone and customer service skills. * Able to deal effectively with challenging customer service interactions. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and business information. * Ability to pay attention to detail and perform work accurately. * Organizational skills and ability to prioritize work. * Ability to complete multiple projects and manage shifting priorities with frequent interruptions. * Skills in the operations of computers and their applications, along with other office equipment. * The ability to recognize post operative complications and problems with casts and respond appropriately.
