The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an opening for a tenure track faculty position for a fellowship trained Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon. The rank will be determined based on the chosen candidate's qualifications. The successful applicant will be become part of a dynamic and successful foot and ankle team within an outstanding academic Orthopaedic Department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in building an academic practice with anticipation of being a thought leader in foot and ankle medicine. Interest and experience in clinical outcomes research and/or basic science research is preferred. Candidates will be expected to prioritize education and mentorship of fellows, residents, medical students, and other health care training programs. Applicants should have a sincere desire to develop and mentor others to develop focused clinical, research and educational programs in musculoskeletal disorders, which will include publishing in peer-reviewed journals and presenting at national meetings.
Minimum requirements include completion of a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery and a one-year advanced fellowship training in operative foot and ankle medicine plus board certification or board eligibility. Overall, candidates need to have demonstrated an exceptional academic interest and a clear track record of excellence in all aspects of orthopaedics, including clinical care, education, and clinical or basic science research.
