Job Description:

This role engages in the development and delivery of organizational development programs and projects. The analyst/specialist acts as an integral partner in the development and execution of BIW's Organizational Development Framework.

Responsibilities:
Develops project plans and timelines to support organizational development efforts and assist in the smooth and thorough execution of projects.

Delivers work in alignment with plans. Develop Course Curriculum, training materials and learning programs. Manages the Professional Development and Intern/Co-Op Programs on behalf of BIW.

Designs and conducts quantitative & qualitative analyses to identify trends in workforce behaviors (i.e. attrition, retirement, movement). Incorporates information from various data sources, both internal and external, to support analysis. Acts as a strategic partner working with division leadership to assist with the progression and development of their organizations.

Required/Preferred Education/Training

Bachelor's Degree in Business or HR Management, or a related field/equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Required/Preferred Experience
3-5 years' experience in organizational development in a large, professional environment

Advanced use of MS Office products such as Excel, Access and PowerPoint; People Soft experience preferred.Proven project management skills.

  • Experience working in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment required. Experience in the design and delivery of interactive training session and experiential learning programs.

    Experience working with a Learning & Performance Management System preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven problem solving and conflict management skills.

    Ability to adapt to a fast paced, progressive environment. Ability to relate and work with all levels of the Company.

We are looking for recent graduates of marine, manufacturing and/or engineering colleges or academies. We will be making candidate selections in the winter of 2018 with the selected new hires starting in June of 2019. Overview:This is an interim trainee position where the employee develops professionally, technically and personally through a structured two year Professional Development Program (PDP) of defined rotations and training. Upon completion of the program the employee will be able to assume a leadership role within the company. The PDP employee rotates through key areas to learn primary processes to acquire shipbuilding and maritime industry knowledge and leadership skills. Role and Responsibilities of selected candidates:1. Proactively use every opportunity and experience to increase knowledge of BIW business practices.2. Complete assignments/projects on time to support rotational departments' workload.3. Develop overall knowledge of shipbuilding processes and managerial skills while assisting key departments during area rotations. 4. Manages work in a given area by coordinating cognizant stakeholder efforts.5. Actively participate in implementing and monitoring continuous process improvement initiatives to improve safety and quality, and reduce cycle time and costs. 6. Attend and participate in assigned learning events.
