Position Summary: The Director of Nursing Services for Long-Term Care with written administrative authority has responsibility and accountability for assuring functions and activities of the nursing services department.
Directs, oversees and manages all nursing related staff, including education and orientation and insures appropriate care of residents within mandated guidelines and Scope of Practice. Responsible for creating a harmonious atmosphere and environment for staff and all residents and to insure optimum care for residents.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current Oregon licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Successfully completed six credit hours in management or supervision pertinent to long-term care from an accredited college or university or have a baccalaureate or master's degree in nursing and documentation of course work which includes management or supervision.
Experience: Shall be a registered nurse with specific knowledge about nursing administration in a nursing facility. At least six months experience in a nursing facility, hospital, or inpatient rehabilitation facility.
Job Knowledge: General knowledge regarding federal/state (Oregon) regulations for skilled long-term care facilities.
