Job Description:

Responsible for routine order processing and serving as day-to-day customer interface

The Order Management Administrator will be based in Austin, TX and will be responsible for routine order processing and serving as day-to-day customer interface.

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do

  • Manual order entry into production planning system

  • Process customer order changes by entering customer requests into planning systems

  • Communicates order status to customer including initial committed ship dates (CSD's) and follow up on interim order changes

  • Release authorizations to shipping department to deliver product

  • Validates order configurations for manufacturability per customer's product rule sets

  • Validates material and capacity availability based on products ordered and in accordance with customer's requested ship dates

  • Resolve low level scheduling conflicts such as material and capacity availability issues

  • Coordination and communication of order expedite requests to production control - may include preliminary determination of material and capacity availability, lead-time restrictions, and modification of schedules within limited parameters

  • Runs routine reports in support of customer information requests and internal reporting requirements

  • Responsible for making sure work orders are released to manufacturing and authorizations for shipping are released in time to meet established goals for lead time, response time and committed ship dates

  • Provide support to quality function in resolution of customer incidents

The candidate will be expected to lead the tuning and optimization of all parts of the data management system, and provide a Quality Assessment of the system and the raw data being collected from 100+ seismometers that stream data to TexNet. * --- Job Details: Responsibilities * To ensure full operations of the earthquake management system on a 24/7 basis. * To optimize all parts of the earthquake management system. * Provide a quality assessment of the system by communicating status and progress through reports, papers presentations, etc. * Develop new tools and/or add available tools to the earthquake management system workflow (real time and/or offline). Required Qualifications A Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience in computer science, physics, electrical engineering, earth science, or related field are recommended. The candidate should be experienced/proficient in Python and have knowledge of SQL and Linux OS. Basic TCP/IP networking understanding, different network protocol, ability to troubleshoot network and Linux system problems. Shell scripting. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in groups and independently, sometimes in stressful conditions to meet deadlines. Ability to manage large and complex datasets and to disseminate results of projects to professional peers. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications More than the required years of experience, with specific background and hands-on experience in computer languages, distributed computing and signal analysis. Familiarity with FDSNWS and IRIS tools will be considered through the evaluation. Willingness and ability to adapt to changing research programs and project needs.
