Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the complete, accurate and timely preparation and execution of internal and external customer distribution requests. The Order Fulfillment Technician 2 is required to strictly adhere to all applicable standard operation procedures and supervisory instructions to ensure compliance with customer specifications and cGMP's. This position requires the employee to have learned and be totally proficient in the required tasks such that the employee can train new Distribution Technicians. The position also requires the employee to become cross-trained in Warehouse and Operations Support procedures and provide support to the Warehouse and Operations Support group during times of peak volume.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applies Good Manufacturing Practices in all areas of responsibility.

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.

  • Packages, labels and verifies all shipments in accordance with applicable SOP's and Distribution Protocol Instructions.

  • Processes all orders according to priority in order to meet required receipt dates.

  • Coordinates transportation with approved carriers and prepares the airway bills.

  • Accurately enters internal and external customer orders into the Global Project Management System (GPM)

  • Pulls and stages materials for Production Rooms.

  • As requested, researches and reports tracking information (Proof of delivery, ETAs, etc.) to internal customers.

  • Shows initiative when workload is light by seeking out tasks and providing support to the Warehouse and Operations Support team

  • Approves GPM orders and provide them to Distribution Techs.

  • Trains new Technicians

  • Identifies opportunities to revise processes and/or improve quality.

  • Provides weekend "on-call" coverage if needed.

  • Supports Warehouse and Operations Support by pulling and staging materials when volume justifies.

  • Operated forklifts and other necessary equipment.

  • Maintains work areas in a neat, clean and orderly fashion.

  • Conducts all activities in a safe manner.

  • Meets or exceeds established company attendance policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and to work in a team environment. The individual must be willing and able to work overtime when necessary. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.

Education/ Experience (BMQ): High school diploma, or GED. Minimum of 1 year experience in pharmaceutical packaging, shipping/inventory control or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Ability to navigate in a Windows environment. Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel a plus.

  • Typing skills of a minimum of 25 words per minute are required.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail are required.

  • Ability to lift boxes weighing 30 to 70 lbs is required

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Some overtime and weekend work required.

The Packaging Technician III is required to strictly adhere to all applicable standard operating procedures and supervisory instructions to ensure compliance with customer specifications and cGMP's. This position is for employees who are capable of performing all phases of clinical packaging and require minimal, if any, supervision in most areas. All duties and responsibilities of the Packaging Technician II position must have been mastered prior to obtaining the Packaging Technician III position. Key Responsibilities: * Applies Good Manufacturing Practices and follow Standard Operating Procedures in all areas of responsibility on a daily basis * Demonstrates and promotes the company vision * Reviews the Production Order prior to packaging and follows supervisor/group leader instructions to understand and perform the necessary packaging procedures requied for assembly of each study carefully and in full accordance with specific Production Order instructions within the guidelines of the SOP's * Accurately documents individual packaging activities in the production order * Cleans packaging rooms in strict accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices. Cleaning must be documented either electronically or on paper, per SOP requirements * Independently sets up and operates manual packaging lines using basic and moderately complex packaging equipment. With occasional assistance, sets up the most complicated packaging equipment, (e.g., Swiftpack bottle filler, Resina Torquer/Retorquer, Klockner thermoformers, etc). Monitors equipment for appropriate functioning during packaging runs, making adjustments as necessary. Reports any major mechanical issues to supervisor/group leader and seeks assistance from another Packaging Technician Grade 3 or higher, Maintenance or Machine Operator. Disassembles and cleans such equipment in strict accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures * Performs primary manual or automated filling and packaging of blistered and bottled pharmaceutical products with a Packaging Technician Grade I or greater inspecting the clinical supply prior to bulk packing * Performs and ensure proper card and drug placement using various secondary card sealing machinery with a Packaging Technician Grade I or greater inspecting the clinical supply prior to bulk packing * Accepts, quarantines, or rejects in-process clinical supplies and drug products according to acceptability standards determined by Good Manufacturing Practices, customer requirements, Standard Operating Procedures, and Quality Assurance guidelines * Labels and assembles both blinded (following a randomization schedule) and open clinical supplies in conjunction with a Packaging Technician Grade I or greater inspecting the product prior to packing * Performs scanning of labeled bottles/cartons/cards, etc. utilizing "PASS" system, when applicable. Completes necessary documentation and prints "PASS" reports * Assists in the training of Packaging Technician I and Packaging Technician II for all packaging equipment required for Packaging Technician III position * Accurately counts out and prepares packaging supplies to ensure proper accountabilities prior to and at the completion of a job order. Assists Quality Assurance personnel and Production Supervisors in staging, scanning and reconciliation of components as required * Performs reconciliation and receiving in GPM * Assists in Labeling Department, on an as needed basis, with the inspection of labels, if approved to do so * Checks components for accuracy relative to description, Lot#, quantity, etc. prior to QA issuance to packaging line * Scans components and documents in Production Order * Performs in-process quality checks during production runs * Assists QA and Production Supervisors in performing necessary documentation of job related activities as required, (e.g., Nonconformance Reports, Investigations, Material Accountability, etc.). * Independently sets up packaging rooms for jobs to be run.
