L3 Applied Defense Solutions currently has an opening for an Orbital/Operations Analyst working at the Colorado Springs, CO location.
The successful candidate will excel as a member of a dynamic team supporting cutting edge systems for the space industry.
Interested parties should expect to support satellite space situational awareness (SSA) activities, primarily as an Orbital/Operations Analyst.
The main role of this candidate will be to operate orbit determination and satellite characterization systems utilizing data from variety of surveillance phenomenologys (radar, passive RF, optical). Analytical prediction requires use of analytical tools, such as Freeflyer, STK and MATLAB to calculate orbit trajectories, maneuvers, and to establish design reference missions.
An ideal candidate has experience supporting operational satellite missions; particularly geostationary.
REQUIRED SKILLS 3+ years of experience in Spacecraft Systems engineering Or 3+ years of Spacecraft Operations experience Experience in requirements development and management, space vehicle design and operations, payloads, and mission operations Experience evaluating and implementing new and state-of-the-art technology to address challenging customer problems Strong oral and written communication skills B.S.
degree in Systems Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or related discipline Active TS/SCI security clearance DESIRED SKILLS Work with aggressive timelines, in a team environment with a willingness to learn and grow Experience with satellite mission planning or analysis in all regimes, particularly geostationary Leading in specific trade and root cause analysis studies that drive system development.
Experience with astrodynamics modeling tools including COTS (STK, ODTK, FreeFlyer), GOTS (GMAT, USAF Astro Standards), open source (Orekit), or custom software (e.g.
