MISSION OF THE ROLE

The Oral Surgeons mission is to perform surgical procedures as well instructing staff on how to assist in patient treatment.

OUTCOMES OF THE ROLE

Mission Driven & Patient First: Competently examine patients, diagnose diseases and effectively treat and perform all necessary procedure.

Set up a friendly relationship with the patients to educate them about the complications of treatment and duration of healing process by (1) preparing a doctor case file including medical history. Respond promptly to patient's needs by (2) managing difficult or emotional customer situations (3) developing innovative approaches and ideas and (4) soliciting customer feedback to improve service. (5) Patient-centered: Passionate about delivering high-quality care and service and responding promptly to customers' needs. (6) Analytical:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a graduate of an accredited U.S. School. DDS/DMD from a dental education program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation

Current dentist license in the state where the practice is located.

Completed an Oral Surgery Residency accredited by the Commission on Dental or have at least 5+ years of experience focused primarily on oral surgery.

Responsible for keeping license active, current and in good standing.

Approved provider with Amerihealth as an Admitting Provider preferred.

Valid license to practice dentistry in the state where providing care (License must be in good standing) or eligible for licensure.

Other Certifications as required by state to include: CPR, DEA, etc.

TRAVEL

Some travel, less than 10% of the time.

This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally 50.

Mission of the Role The Surgical Dental Assistant's mission is to support the dentist and anesthesia provider in providing excellent, high-quality care to patients at a pediatric dental practice, including sedation/surgery. The Surgical Dental Assistant will accomplish these goals by carrying out the following core values: Integrity- Doing what is right for our patient, our teammates and our company. Patient First - Evaluating our level of service and quality to the people we serve, putting what's best for our patients above all else. * Prepares patients for treatment by talking them through the procedure and administers general anesthesia and IV sedation. * Sets up a friendly relationship with patients and educates them on personal oral care. * Is passionate about delivering accurate, high quality patient care. * Performs hygiene, ops, oral surgery, charting and x-rays in a sedation environment. * Documents each patient's treatment and progress on there records, noting X-rays, updates to dental issues and treatments, and dental impressions or casts. * Post-surgery; talks the patient through any complications or successes and provides them with follow-up instructions, oral hygiene advice, and postoperative care tips. Accountability - Taking responsibility for meeting our commitment and taking ownership of our results. * Monitors patient vital statistics and intravenous fluids during surgery and with the surgeon/anesthesia provider of any issues as they occur. * Assists oral surgeons and dentist to perform oral procedures. * Keeps the surgery area clean and organized keeping all equipment sterilized before and after use and ensures areas are thoroughly cleaned to meet health and safety regulations. * Completes administrative tasks correctly and on time. Minimum Qualifications * Ability to prepare equipment before oral surgery. * High school diploma or GED. * Dental Assistant Certification per state requirements. * X-ray certification required in the states for which you apply. * 3+ years oral surgery experience in a high-volume dental practice. * Self-motivated, independent, positive and outgoing. Desired Skills * Able to multi-task and complete dental tasks correctly and on time. * Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, listening to patients' needs and possesses a friendly and outgoing demeanor. * Preferred knowledge of EagleSoft and or ECW. * Comfortable and knowledgeable of General Anesthesia and Oral Surgery. * Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as excellent writing and speaking abilities. * Experience with public presentations, training and/or teaching preferred * Associate degree or vocational school training in related field. * Bi-lingual Physical Requirements This position requires full range of body motion.
