Oracle DBA Manager needed for growing team in large enterprise HQ in Tampa Bay, Florida. This team has been experiencing explosive growth of 100%.

You will manage both on-site and off-site Oracle DBAs providing support for production, QA and development environments.

A successful candidate would have significant experience in Oracle Exadata Series, ZFS storage appliance, Oracle ODA and PCA systems and architecture including performance tuning for enterprise applications.

This role is key to mission critical business applications that require 24x7 on-call team rotation, incident management, change management and identifying key process methods for efficient delivery of service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with developers and programmers to understand the potential architectural impacts of different database strategies.

Provides database deliverables, such as conceptual design, logical databases, capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading plans, data maintenance plans, and security policies.

Drives IT solutions to ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic and integrated approach to the design of technical solutions.

Understands and applies enterprise wide thinking to individual departmental requests for IT investments to ensure end-to-end process and data integration are achieved.

Leads projects to successful completion as defined by predetermined project success criteria including those established by the business, capital expenditure and budget requirements.

Develops and maintains development methodology (templates, processes and deliverables) and ensures all IT resources understand their responsibilities in this process.

Partners with Business Teams to assess how technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value.

Remains up to date on key technology, business and industry trends.

Develops budget and annual goals and objectives; holds organization accountable for attaining goals and objectives.

Set strategic direction for the design and deployment of corporate databases.

Oversees database and team disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Directly supervise the activities of Database Administrators.

Assists in troubleshooting efforts and coaches team members on troubleshooting strategies

Pushes innovative approaches to solving problems

Pushes adoption of latest oracle features to save operational cost and man-hours

Ensures that best practices are followed in all areas including RMAN backup/restore, EXPDP/IMPDP, tablespace management, Data Guard, Pluggable Database management.

Performs code reviews on database administrator led automation scripts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. in Computer Science, IS or related degree and seven (7) years of relevant experience including leadership experience.

Subject matter expertise in architecture, database design and/or engineering.

Strong Oracle 12c, 11g and Exadata DBA experience including Database capacity planning and performance tuning.

Database administration principles and practices.

At least 3 years of management/supervisory experience in a large enterprise environment.

Experience with Oracle Engineered Systems such as ODA and Exadata.

Experience with RMAN, Data Guard, Goldengate, OEM, ASH/AWR analysis, RAC, multitenancy

Preferably has scripting experience in either Bash, Perl, Python.

Experience in PL/SQL code development

Will have to juggle many projects simultaneously and be able to swiftly adapt to priority changes at a moment's notice. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following experience and skills: * Significant experience with SQL Server 2014 or 2016. * Experience with database security, tuning, query optimization and backups. Experience with SQL Server products, including Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS). * Analysis Services (SSAS) experience is not required, but would be a plus.
