Job Description:

  • Looking for an Oracle database, system, Application and SQL performance tuning expert with an ability to identify, analyze performance issues and provide solutions, workarounds to resolve the issue.

  • Should have the ability to work with customer business, development, and support teams to identify the issue and work independently in analyzing and providing recommendations.

  • Should have strong analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oracle Database performance tuner should have hand-on experience in Oracle 9i/10g/11g/12c , Oracle Exadata

  • Experience working with OEM 10g/11g/12c.

  • Ability to diagnose the performance issues from SQL to Application to Database to System to Storage

  • Should have "Expert" level SQL tuning skill and experience , Expert level understanding of Oracle database architecture

  • Expert knowledge in DPT and AWR objects

  • Experience in creating and executing performance testing strategy is a plus

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks at DB & at session /program level

  • Should have experience & ability to work with various teams to resolve performance issues (development, storage administrators, network administrators, system administrators and business users)

  • Experience in shell scripting.

  • Review physical structures of database , Review performance, maintenance and utilities associated with database structure

  • Performance tuning and query optimization using PL/SQL , tuning database performance,

  • Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database.

  • Implements and enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases.

  • Candidate should possess strong problem solving skills.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work with already established data models and naming conventions.

  • Be able to grasp the problem at hand and recognize appropriate approach, tools and technologies to solve it.

  • A record of working effectively with application teams, understanding Customer business drivers and executing on multiple performance tuning projects

Candidate qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years as a DBA , 5+ Years as Oracle performance tuning ( DB system and SQL tuning )

  • Experience working in production environments requiring 99.99% availability

  • Previous experience and a strong technical background deploying, administrating, tuning, monitoring, and maintaining database technologies including but not limited to Oracle 10g, 11g/12c, and Unix/Linux a major plus

  • Solid experience in database tuning, design, security, backup, recovery, and archival concepts and procedures.

  • Exposure to the Cloud or virtualized Application environments a plus.

  • Familiarity with ETL processes and operations

  • Excellent communication skills are a requirement including the ability to effectively communicate with technical, non-technical employees and vendors.

  • Strong problem solving, testing, and network troubleshooting skills.

  • Should have "independently" able to identify and resolve database performance issues

  • The skill to work to tight deadlines under pressure

  • Business awareness and understanding of project requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, team atmosphere.
