Oracle Database Architect/Engineering Lead
ActioNet is looking for a strong Oracle Database Architect/Engineering Lead, who is smart, client-focused, and self-motivated, to be part of an enterprise team supporting a large multi-million dollar Federal account. This individual will coach and mentor database engineers, establish standards and processes, design and architect today's technology for improved usability for a multi-terabyte Oracle Engineered System. Lead the Database Engineering team to design and architect mission critical database systems, develop strategies for data backup/recovery, data replication, cloud innovations, and translate business needs to long-term architecture solutions.
Provide solid DBA skills on Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, GoldenGate, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting production issues.
Maintain and ensure availability for multiple production and development databases.
Hands-on experience and provide upgrade and patching strategies for Oracle 11g/12c database and related software.
Provide RMAN backup and recovery support and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements to production processes.
Maintain security and integrity controls and formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management.
Support the implementation of all required security updates as directed by applicable customer's policies.
Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, management information systems, or related field.
15+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA.
5 years of experience leading a DBA team to support multi-terabyte databases on Oracle Engineered Systems such as Exadata or Sun SuperCluster.
5 years of experience with backing up databases to ZDLRA, DataDomain with DDBoost, and other SANs.
5 of experience using Oracle PL/SQL, including development and debugging of procedures, functions, and packages.
5 years of full application development life-cycle with development methodologies (analysis, architecture, design, development, testing and deployment); Agile methodology is preferred.
Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external government customers.
Minimum 7 years of strong Oracle 11g or 12c DBA experience with specific knowledge of RAC, ASM, GoldenGate, Data Guard, RMAN, patching, and security.
Experience working in a cloud environment and migrating databases to the cloud (private or public) is a plus (Oracle Cloud preferred).
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is required
Secret clearance is a must; Top Secret is a plus
