    Click here to view a brief video and learn more: The Global Positioning System Advanced Control Segment (GPS OCX) Raytheon team is responsible for full life cycle engineering on state of the art environmental, commercial, and sensing systems for government and commercial applications.
    GPS OCX is seeking a talented Database Administrator to join our software database team in a fast-paced environment.
    The candidate must have experience and knowledge with database administration and database deployment solutions.
    The candidate will work closely with systems engineers, integrators, testers, and customers to provide database administration throughout the development and maintenance life cycle.

    Responsibilities: As an Oracle Database Administrator, the selected candidate will perform: - Oracle 11g & 12c Database Administration to include the following:
  • Configuration, management, and maintenance of complex relational databases

  • Evaluation and installation of database software releases, patches and system upgrades

  • Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of database tuning: software configuration, memory usage, data access, data manipulation, SQL, and physical storage

  • Strong SQL DML and DDL capability

  • Strong Oracle Support utility skills (PL/SQL, SQL, Python, DataPump/export/import, SQLLoader)

  • Willingness to support/lead Database development efforts

  • Willingness to support data loading and validation efforts

  • Database Benchmarking (Threshold Forecasting, Sizing, Capacity Planning, Trend/Predictive Analysis, Testing/Stressing, and recovery planning)

  • Database Requirements Analysis

  • Database scripts/package deployment

  • Database Administration support to include occasional weekends

  • Database configuration/deployment support to site

  • Strong database data integrity & stored procedure testing experience

  • Documentation Required Skills:
    - Minimum 6 years Database Administrator experience with Oracle 11g & 12c RDBMS

  • Experience with RAC/Grid Control/ASM

  • Experience with Data Guard/RMAN

  • Experience with development and execution of database security policies, procedures and auditing-experience with database authentication methods, authorization methods, and data encryption techniques.

  • Strong scripting skills using Linux, Bash, Perl, and Python.

  • Willingness to share knowledge and mentor team members

  • Experience with security requirements for databases, developing, documenting, and implementing backup and recovery procedures.

  • Experience with database performance tuning, partitioning, blobs, database storage management, data security and protection, performing backups/ restores, and archiving data.

  • Skills working with Oracle PL/SQL, stored procedures, and SQL queries.

  • Candidates must be a US Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

    Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with databases in secure environments (familiarity with STIGS, hardening, etc.)

  • Experience with data modeling and design using Oracle Designer, SQL Developer

What You'll get to Do: Northrop Grumman is looking for a talented and experienced Database Administrator with a strong Oracle background to join a large, dynamic program in Aurora, Colorado. This program is a large, complex Information Technology project which uses several COTS database products, including Oracle Database, IBM DB2, and PostgreSQL. The candidate should be familiar with these products supporting each through the entire lifecycle from design/development through delivery and operational support. The position requires an individual to work on a small, highly skilled team which supports mission critical systems by providing technical database support and establishing innovative, time sensitive solutions. The preferred candidate must work under minimal supervision, have the ability to multi-task and adapt to change, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate must be highly motivated and a self-starter with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks, independently determine the approach to fixing problems and push to closure on scheduled milestones. In addition to database technologies, script writing utilizing PL/SQL, Python, PERL, and/or Java is desirable.
