Working as an Operating Room Surgical Technician at New Mexico Orthopaedic Surgery Center you will be part of a care team that takes pride and responsibility in the care of the Orthopaedic patient. Responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments, Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room, Clean and prepare OR between cases, Provides safe environment of care through excellent teamwork and communication.

Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians. Ability to promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients and general public.

Ability to make decisions and solve problems. Demonstrates ability to work as a team member and to communicate directly and professionally. Is flexible, reliable, productive, patient-oriented, and self-motivated.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. He/she is able to identify and categorize each patient's age-specific grouping of needs, such as those for an adolescent, adult, or geriatric patient. Maintains professional conduct and appearance.

Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.

One to two years operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. BLS Certification.

Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.

Physical demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to walk.

Capable of occasional overhead and low reaching. Physical strength for equipment needs and patient-care activities. Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities.

Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs. Ability to make constant and frequent judgment and response to routine problems and occasionally to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills.

Required Experience

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-06T00:00 Job Description Job Description * Provide effective technical consultative service to customers before, during and after routine surgical cases * Consistently drive customer and patient satisfaction * Apply product proficiency by ensuring customers comprehend technical specifications and on-label use of products * Provide inventory management and invoicing to customers and branch operations Duties & Responsibilities * Provide surgeons and clinical staff with technical information regarding the use of Stryker products prior to, during and/or after surgical procedures; respond to customer queries and requests. * Provide consigned and owned inventory management support by delivering, organizing and monitoring inventory of implants and instruments at customer location. * Attend and support routine primary surgical procedures. * Confidently identify and troubleshoot product-related problems and/or issues related to a customer's application of a product. * Document every incident regarding product performance; assist in preparing reports regarding these product issues according to Company policy and governmental requirements. * Assist in the return/addition of goods resulting from field service issues, stock adjustments, field actions, and administrative processes according to Company procedures. * Ensure that products requiring maintenance and/or evaluation are returned to the branch in a timely manner. * Under the direction of a manager, Sales Rep or Senior Orthopaedic Specialist, provide limited product training to colleagues and/or customers in both one-on-one and in-service settings. * Help drive sales initiatives by assisting with technology upgrades. * Interact with various internal stakeholders (e.g., marketing, product development) concerning products and product application. * Successfully complete initial training/certification program for Orthopaedic Specialists and demonstrate proficiency in products routinely used in specific customer accounts. * Maintain product/instrumentation knowledge and professional skills through internal training, external seminars and other available means. Requirements * High School diploma. Prefer Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in a technical field of study. * Prefer 2+ years as hospital and/or military surgical technician, nurse or other directly relevant position * Demonstrated problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to drive clear verbal messages regarding technical subjects * Demonstrated ability to manage complex processes with high detail orientation * Demonstrated ability to provide accurate, timely and effective customer service * Demonstrated ability to utilize office systems (Microsoft Office) * Prefer proficiency in order and inventory management systems Work From Home: Not available Travel Percentage: 30% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
