Working as an Operating Room Surgical Technician at New Mexico Orthopaedic Surgery Center you will be part of a care team that takes pride and responsibility in the care of the Orthopaedic patient. Responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments, Anticipates the needs of the surgical team, Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room, Clean and prepare OR between cases, Provides safe environment of care through excellent teamwork and communication.

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
One to two years operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience. BLS Certification.
Other skills and abilities: General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and surgical procedures for an operating room.
Physical demands: Ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to walk.
Capable of occasional overhead and low reaching. Physical strength for equipment needs and patient-care activities. Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities.
Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs. Ability to make constant and frequent judgment and response to routine problems and occasionally to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills.
Education and/or Experience:
