JOB DESCRIPTION

OR scrub techs or surgical technicians are often the right hand to a surgeon during an operation. This means that they hand instruments and other supplies to the physician during surgical procedures.

This is an extremely important part of this job because surgical technicians need to be able to have all the proper instruments at their fingertips as well as anticipate any other tools or supplies a surgeon might require during a procedure. The supplies needed are often not only essential in helping to heal a person, but ultimately can play an important role in saving a life. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: - Prepare all tools and equipment needed prior to a procedure

  • Make sure all equipment used is sterile within required regulation(s)

  • May help the physician "scrub" prior to an operation

  • Make sure the patient is properly positioned and comfortable during the procedure

  • Assist the surgeon during an operation

  • Disinfect all the equipment and tools used after the surgery

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

    Required Experience In addition to making sure anyone entering the surgical area has adhered to proper sterilization procedure, the surgical technologists/scrub tech will ensure that all the instruments they will be using are sterilized according to best practices as well. Scrub techs have the added responsibility to make sure that all the equipment and tools the surgical staff are using are clean and safe, so that there's no harm to the patient. Surgical technologists must confirm that all the instruments are collected and sterilized after surgery, and that the operating room is cleaned and totally disinfected for the next procedure. A commitment to excellent patient service in the capacity of this role is vital.

Settings include the client's home, the church, the community center, a neighbor's or family member's home, and other community settings. This position has flexible scheduling needs and can include working evening and weekend hours. Hourly Rate: $25.00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Participate in all staff development, training and meetings as required. * Implements and maintains the MMHT program's philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance. * Provision of individual and family psychotherapy with assigned clients. * Assessment of strengths and therapeutic needs of client and family. * Inclusion of client as a participant in his/her own treatment, and inclusion of family as members of the treatment team and as partners in treatment. * Determination, with the family and the care manager, of any necessary family support services. Development, with the care manager and other involved professionals, of a plan to obtain identified services. * Determination of the clinical need for special evaluations and services. * Collaboration with client and family and other involved professionals to develop daily routines during times of crisis and transition and a 24-hour crisis plan. Collaboration with other involved professionals and agencies in order to provide unified services and continuity of care to client and family. * Complete timely and accurate documentation. * Maintain Productivity standards as determined by the Supervisor Requirements: Master's degree in Mental Health, Counseling or Social Work with a minimum of one year's experience in serving the geriatric population. Preferred is experience with clinical techniques in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with competences in strength based and solution focused interventions. Support the organization's mission along with sensitivity of cultural and workplace harmony. Planning and time management and strong organizational skills. A valid driver's license along with access to a vehicle. Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes. Ability to main confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies. Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling and site locations and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks. Communication along with professionalism.
