Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a Student Health Care environment.
Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited college or university preferred.
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
Certified by the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) preferred.
Three (3) years' experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

Preliminary Testing: Operate refractor/keratometer and auto lensmeter.
Percentage of time 30 Duties/Responsibilities
Preventative and Diagnostic Testing: Perform visual fields, retinal photography, corneal topography, OCT, and pachymetry.
Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
Patient Care and Patient Flow: Communicate with patient care teams on a continual basis throughout the day; maintaining timeliness with patient preliminary testing, diagnostic testing as well as other duties; ensuring that our patients receive courteous and prompt service and that all patient needs are met before each patient leaves the clinic.

Medical Chart Documentation: Ensure that all patient charts are properly documented with necessary, complete and accurate details within the electronic medical record.
Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
Medication, Equipment and Inventory Management: Track and restock medical solutions, medications and supplies as needed as well as maintaining and cleaning equipment properly.
