Optimization Accountant

FreshFry is a food-tech company, founded in 2014 by two engineers who saw the opportunity to create meaningful and innovative products for those who make food. The FreshFry Pod, which launched the company, was the first of its kind. A self-contained, easy to use all-natural product that required no equipment. Restaurants spend over $80B on frying oil annually and give the messiest job to the lowest paid people. FreshFry is reimagining the Future of Work, and the value of people. FreshFry is now sold nationally and is positioned to enter into five international markets within the calendar year.

Joining FreshFry Means:

  • Respecting those who work within the foodservice industry
  • Working for a complex and exciting business, simultaneously operating as a product supplier, oil-management developer, manufacturing, and big-data extractor.
  • Being challenged to improve every day by a diversely skilled team
  • An active, intense, and fun work environment
  • Being a decision maker and owner of your domain
  • Joining in our mission to forever change the way people view the back of a kitchen
  • Loving what you do every day
What We're Looking For:

FreshFry is in need of a highly organized individual, well-versed in cost accounting. You probably are now realizing that where you are and where you want to go is a pretty big gap, so you are up for a challenge. You will be set on a path to become our cost efficiency wizard. Our supply chain is evolving, so the ability to see, understand and manage costs throughout is imperative. You will be responsible for gathering and learning to build all reporting related to revenue and expenses within the company. The great thing about FreshFry is, since we are a small company, you will collaborate directly with the CEO, COO, and CFO. This is a perfect way to hone your skills and learn firsthand how to drive healthy company growth and provide support to an entire team. If you are excited about the above, we are excited about you!

Other qualities that we feel are essential for success include:

  • Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic (read: sometimes chaotic) startup environment
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online (current accounting platform)
  • Strong experience within ERP software (bonus points for working through onboarding a new ERP software)
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills with keen attention to details
  • Great communication skills with suppliers and partners
  • B.S. in Accounting
  • 2+ years of Cost Accounting Experience within the Manufacturing Industry
  • Direct experience performing standard cost updates for raw material, labor, overhead and other costs related to the supply chain.
  • Flexibility to grow in several ways inside of a startup
Your Deliverables:

What should be the fruit of your labor? In short, you should help grow our revenue and our stature in the market. There are a vast number of opportunities available, but we should move with purpose. We need to be determined, accommodating, and incredibly reliable to grow each relationship. You will be measured by quality as much as quantity in this role. The more you can handle, the faster the company grows!

This is an entry stage position in the company. However, there is quite a bit of opportunity to define your success and look for ways to take bigger roles. We are looking forward to having an effective team today that gets where we want to be tomorrow. When you have goals as big as ours, there is always opportunity to grow!

The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. The requirements listed above are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the job according to specific company requirements. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
