The LE ensures that all lighting requirements can be met on the entire system (legal, customer, and client)
The LE ensures a matching in our target market quality of light distributions. He points out timely when the present concepts would lead to a probably not satisfactory photometric performance.
Planning and on schedule execution of tasks in cooperation with his subordinated Project Members
Verification of optical designs by use of light simulation and analysis of lighting prototypes.
Responsible for the lighting engineering documentation quality
Controlling of within projects planned effort regarding lighting engineering and prompt reporting to his superior and the System Engineer (SE) in case of a foreseeable deviation.
Prompt information to the SE is required in case of new or additional customer requirements which were not part of the initial project assignment.
Elaboration, evaluation of optical concepts and designs and communication to the project team and the customer. (Recommendations and obligations)
Representing the lighting engineers point of view in the project and to the customer
Development of optical headlamp concepts in cooperation with light engineers, electronics engineers, design engineers and homologation.
Controlling of the development and product maturity in relation to the lighting requirements in the valid specification especially at milestones and feasibility points
Clarification of lighting engineering conditions, needs, contradictions and compromises with the project team and the customer
Building a foundation of trust with the customer e.g. authentic appearance, reliable partner, understanding of customer requirements (knowing the priorities)
Collaboration in design and execution of the DVP&R and Control Plan (PLP) (see work instruction "WI LP03.07 Creation and revision of control plans and procurement of type-related test equipment" within lighting relevant topics
Preparation of presentations on lighting issues of customers and team members
Requesting prototypes for the verification of optical designs in SE
Delegating tasks on the assigned employees also in across locations projects
Requesting development performance at the groups and departments as part of the planning
