Responsibility towards:

System Engineering (SE)

Responsibility:

  • The Project Member "Light Engineering Project" (LE) takes the responsibility for the optical development of lighting relevant parts in compliance with best practices, guidelines and rules of the lighting engineering department respecting the available production techniques at the targeted production plants.

  • The LE ensures that all lighting requirements can be met on the entire system (legal, customer, and client)

  • The LE ensures a matching in our target market quality of light distributions. He points out timely when the present concepts would lead to a probably not satisfactory photometric performance.

  • Planning and on schedule execution of tasks in cooperation with his subordinated Project Members

  • Verification of optical designs by use of light simulation and analysis of lighting prototypes.

  • Responsible for the lighting engineering documentation quality

  • Controlling of within projects planned effort regarding lighting engineering and prompt reporting to his superior and the System Engineer (SE) in case of a foreseeable deviation.

  • Prompt information to the SE is required in case of new or additional customer requirements which were not part of the initial project assignment.

Tasks:

  • Elaboration, evaluation of optical concepts and designs and communication to the project team and the customer. (Recommendations and obligations)

  • Representing the lighting engineers point of view in the project and to the customer

  • Development of optical headlamp concepts in cooperation with light engineers, electronics engineers, design engineers and homologation.

  • Controlling of the development and product maturity in relation to the lighting requirements in the valid specification especially at milestones and feasibility points

  • Clarification of lighting engineering conditions, needs, contradictions and compromises with the project team and the customer

  • Building a foundation of trust with the customer e.g. authentic appearance, reliable partner, understanding of customer requirements (knowing the priorities)

  • Collaboration in design and execution of the DVP&R and Control Plan (PLP) (see work instruction "WI LP03.07 Creation and revision of control plans and procurement of type-related test equipment" within lighting relevant topics

  • Preparation of presentations on lighting issues of customers and team members

  • Requesting prototypes for the verification of optical designs in SE

Competencies:

  • Delegating tasks on the assigned employees also in across locations projects

  • Requesting development performance at the groups and departments as part of the planning

  • Convene extraordinary design reviews with LE, SE and SER when the fulfillment of light-technical requirements is risky, endangered or no longer enabled.

  • Holding of lighting engineering team meetings

  • Trigger measurement and simulation workflows concerning the analysis of lighting components (light laboratory / geometry / optics)

You will work with customers and internal business functions including Marketing, Business Development and Commercial Sales to successfully commercialize new products and/or processes. This is an entrepreneurial, creative, hands-on position that requires strong "startup" project and business management multidisciplinary skills focused not only on the technical solution but also the business solution. The ability to lead and direct key member of a multidisciplinary team on several projects at once is essential. As an Lighting Team Leader, you will direct multiple global technical and business resources and be the project face for internal and external customers. Responsibilities * Growing product line revenue, including establishing target customers and targeted program wins with Bus Dev & Commercial * Leading development of product line business plan including targeted improvements in total product cost * Leading development of business cases for new customer quote opportunities * Leading detailed competitor market analysis that results in technology strategy and accurate cost models of competitor products * Developing manufacturing implementation strategy, including manufacturing location analysis * Developing and commercializing novel products that solve customer needs * Spearheading integration of lighting components for opportunities on our products roadmap * Leading CFT activities specific to lighting integration * Interacting with customers and internal teams to discover and define application opportunities * Understanding and applying SRG Global technologies and adjacent competencies to create new product opportunities * Driving concept scale-up from bench prototype to commercially available product * Generating detailed concept proposals and development plans * Leading CFT for Designing, prototyping, testing, and transitioning to manufacture functional elements and components that enable mass-production * Recommending plans for implementation of new developments in engineering, design and lighting technology * Coordinating development activities with the commercial, business development, design, engineering, and manufacturing functions within the organization. * Developing technology transfer packages to support mass production scale-up What do we have to offer?
