Exempt
Work Hours: 12 Hour Shifts (Schedules and shift assignments may be subject to change based on business needs)
Day Shift Crew 2 = 6:00AM to 6:00PM (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
12:00PM to 6:00PM (Wednesday)
Night Shift 5 Days = 9:30PM to 6:00AM (Monday to Friday)
SUMMARY
Inspect final product for optics and any visible irregularities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Duties
Maintain Final Inspection equipment loaded with work
Clear errors form Automatic equipment
Inspect the final product according to the Final Inspection Release Criteria (optics and cosmetics)
Communicate with Supervisor/Manager regarding issues and problems
Perform Class Plus Inspection
Inspect in manual lens meter any jobs that are rejected by automatic inspection equipment
Print quality cards
Send work to designated areas
Secondary Duties
Send work to designated areas
Maintain workstation and work areas clean and organized
Cross trains on tasks from other areas of the lab
Help in other areas of department when needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High School Diploma or GED
ABO Certification helpful but not required
Experience
Some optical laboratory experience required
Know and understand the process of eyeglass manufacturing and the details of the steps involved
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be able to read Prescriptions
Able and willing to work as a team
Basic Math
Must be able to work Overtime, Saturdays and Sundays and some holidays when needed
Able to read and write English Language well
Able to memorize large amounts of data accurately
Computer skills (Windows, MS Office)
Able to work with automated equipment
Problem solving skills
Work without constant supervision
Attendance/Punctuality
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand, use hands to manipulate, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
The employee is frequently required to use Automatic Inspection equipment, lens mappers and lens meters. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Safety Requirements
Basic understanding of the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and the Hazard Communication Program
Closed toe shoe required
Must use proper ergonomics when lifting
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
