Optical Engineering Intern
Job Description:
This position will utilize the candidates optical, mechanical, electrical, and software skills to build and automate optical laser diode characterization setups for engineering.
Mount and characterize laser diodes
Use opto-electronic test equipment to characterize laser performance
Optimize / expand existing equipment
Summarize data in database/Excel
Report and present findings using PowerPoint or slides
Educational and Experience Requirements, Degree program preferred:
Completion of at least one years of a traditional four-year degree program, majoring in EE, Physics, Materials Science, or other technical discipline
Basic understanding of electrical measurements
Basic understanding of electronic principals, including understanding of semiconductor devices
Basic computer programming skills
Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
