General Summary

The basic function of the Optical Associate, Optician is to attract and retain customers by delivering exceptional customer service, fosters customer retention, and promotes outstanding associate/doctor satisfaction.

Essential Functions

Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture by practicing through role-playing, and using effective retail sales skills utilizing the W-E-S-E-E model

Develops professional business relationships with other Associates and Doctor

Fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits and adapts lenses and frames, to include but not limited to the following:

Utilizing optical prescription, evaluates prescription in conjunction with customer's visual requirements;

Recommends specific lenses, lens coatings and frames to suit customer needs;

Assists customers in the selection of frames and coordinates frames with optical measurements and prescription;

Conducts measurements of bridge and eyesize, temple length, vertex distance, pupilary distance and optical centers using appropriate tools

Ensures high quality through accurate measurements, correct pricing, and realistic delivery time quotes

Maximize Managed Vision Care relationships and sales opportunities as measured by:

Effective plan administration and local service

Improvements in average transaction

Locally initiated plans

Assist with the timely implementation of approved Marketing programs by the execution of marketing programs and initiatives

Ensure positive and productive host relationships through Host participation, support, and satisfaction measured by Patient Satisfaction Surveys (PSS).

Other duties as assigned by Optical Manager and other Associates.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

High School Diploma or GED required

Ability to sell through use of sales skills and accountability for sales results

Experience and results with a retail or customer service establishment

Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed customer expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented associate, doctor and host relationships

Success in store merchandising and attention to detail

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in related field

Experience with personal computers preferred

VIEW JOBS 10/22/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-20T00:00 Job Description: The Medical Equipment Service and Delivery Driver is responsible for delivery and equipment management tasks for a district office, including customer delivery and pick-up of medical equipment; processing, cleaning, inspecting and testing equipment; and inventory maintenance. Knowledge and Physical Requirements * 21 years of age or older, with high school diploma or equivalent. * Prior work experience in hospital setting or customer service preferred. * Basic computer skills. * Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as required. * Valid driver's license and potential for DOT certification. * Able to lift and/or push 75 pounds. * Able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Practical Skills (Tasks that the job holder must be able to do and demonstrate.) * Able to dialogue with clinical staff on the topics of equipment features, functionality, etc. * Understands and uses effective conflict resolution skills, e.g., identifies and resolves service concerns, discrepancies and disagreements. * Ensures prompt and courteous service is delivered to all customers in person and in all communications. * Shares information with all team members to improve ability to service customers and define opportunities for the district team. * Completes all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner to ensure accurate documentation for billing and required regulatory compliance. * Stays up to date on the medical equipment in our fleet. * Inspects, cleans and tests medical equipment for functionality, following approved written procedures. * Safely loads, secures and delivers medical equipment to customers. * Completes and maintains DOT certification, according to location-specific needs. * Educates and engages customers at the time of delivery, detailing customers on the features and functionality of the equipment, * Retrieves equipment from customer locations, safely transporting the equipment back to the UHS office. * Ships and receives medical equipment and supplies. * Assists with inventory management. * Resolves customer complaints, ensuring customer satisfaction. * Performs other assigned duties.
