The Operations Support Analyst serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients, interfacing with physicians and healthcare extenders providing case specific feedback. Ensures the timeliness and quality of medical reports by analyzing trends and data addressing inconsistencies and taking action in a timely manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients and providers for problem resolution
Interface with physicians and healthcare extenders and provide case specific feedback
Ensure the timeliness and quality of medical reports by analyzing trends ensuring contractual obligations are met or exceeded
Responsible for determining and validating inconsistencies within referrals and taking action to address in a timely manner
Provide ongoing cases specific physician training based on trend and data analysis
Manages the assignment of caseload and/or follow-up action items to appropriate staff
Provide quality assurance for general medical and specialty examination reports as needed
Investigate client inquiries for case clarifications as needed
Train, coach and develop employees as necessary
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Ability to work, coach and train team members at all levels of the organization
Ability to be flexible to meet deadlines and client expectations
Working knowledge and understanding of the VA quality assurance process
Working knowledge of case management software, electronic medical records and medical databases
Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)
Vocational training in specific aspects of job functions and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned
Tasks, preferably in a medical related area of study (i.e. LVN, LPN, EMT, MA, Military Medic, etc.).
Medical background and experience reviewing medical reports
Direct healthcare experience in medical case management quality assurance to include the review of complex multi-focal medical reports for quality, clarity, thoroughness and insightful medical explanation
