The Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies is hiring 2 individuals to serve as coaches for an Institute of Education Sciences funded study: BEST in CLASS Elementary. BEST in CLASS aims to address the needs of children in Kindergarten 2nd grade at risk for emotional and behavioral disorders. The coach will provide support and training to teachers who participate in the BEST in CLASS Elementary research project. The coach will work approximately 18-20 hrs per week and work with a total of 4 teachers in their classrooms in area schools. This includes meeting weekly with teachers in person and providing follow-up correspondence via email. The coach will receive training on the BEST in CLASS coaching model.
$18-$22/hour Negotiable based on experience.
Bachelor's Degree in general education, special education, early childhood, psychology, or other related fields
Ability to develop positive, supportive relationships with teachers
Excellent verbal/written communication skills and attention to detail
Sufficient computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to multi-task and learn new information
Professional attitude and ability to maintain confidentiality
Sincere desire to assist teachers in helping young students with social-emotional and behavioral needs succeed
Valid driver's license
Previous teaching or coaching experience or direct instruction in schools in some capacity.
