Description

SAIC is seeking an experienced professional to join the National Security Group (NSG). NSG provides specialized engineer, analysis, and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security-related systems based in space, in the air, and on the ground.

NSG has an opening for an experienced engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services to an IC research and development (R&D) customer. The customer serves as a principal advisory to the senior officials on matters pertaining to the technical readiness and execution of programs and projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide analytical, engineering, technical, and administrative guidance to Government leadership in the execution of special activities

  • Seek new, unique, and innovative data application concepts, engineering techniques, and technology applications through the interpretation and analysis of data and processes used by national systems

  • Document national systems performance by conducting parametric and statistical analysis of collected data assessing systems against user needs and requirements

  • Display exceptional project management skills in order to fully integrate efficiently and effectively into current, prospective, and future national and DoD systems

  • Serve as technical SME to respective users and developers by providing technical and scientific assistance as necessary to meet mission tasks and objectives

  • Explore use of specialized data sets for real-world and exercise planning support to ensure the fullest utilization of resources to meet users' mission needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Operations Research, mathematics, applied mathematics, physics, data analytics, engineering or equivalent relevant experience

  • 15 years relevant work experience

  • 8+ years' experience applying advanced analytical methods to a variety of sizes or types of data sets, to support research and decision making

  • Experience applying data visualization to support research and analysis, and to effectively communicate findings

  • Understanding of DoD/IC organizations and functions

  • General Knowledge of space systems and/or space domain awareness

  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Poly

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience applying analytical methods to support mission analysis

  • Experience in project management or acquisition support to DoD/IC programs (e.g. technical plans, schedules, PMRs, contract documentation, financial documentation, PPBES)

  • Experience supporting DoD/IC, including familiarity with Government research and development processes

  • Experience with National Systems, architecture and data to support user requirements

  • Familiarity with government research and development processes and technology readiness levels
