Summary of Position: Position provides a range of clinical and administrative services to collect patient data to be used by the ophthalmologist.# Provides patient care in a manner that creates a warm and welcoming environment for patients and families.# All care is in compliance with and according to policy.

Primary Job Responsibilities: Patient Flow: Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.# Prepare exam rooms for patient care.# Breakdown, cleaning and set up of exam rooms to insure consistent patient flow.# Assist with clinical inventory process.

Patient Care: Perform testing required by type of exam scheduled, review chief complaint and history (ocular and general).# Take ocular and systemic history and accurately record visual acuity.# Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include A-scans and visual fields.# Perform fundus photography, pachymetry, OCTs, refractions, assessment of pupils, anterior chamber depth, and other ancillary testing. Patient Communication:

Assists with patient education, explains testing and next steps. Clinical Support: Assist in minor surgeries, sterilization of instruments.#Assists in training other ophthalmic assistants.

Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.# Previous ophthalmology experience preferred.


Salary Range:


$18.27 - $29.99 Pay Grade: 20 Compensation may vary based upon, but not limited to: overall experience and qualifications, shift, and location.
