Our technicians perform testing and work with the doctor to determine treatment plans, educate patients and provide pre and post op support. RE: Topography. Epic Refractions, IOL MASTER, Wavescan, iDesign, Retinal scans, Pentacam along with hands on patient testing.

Requirements

COA or COT certifications are a plus. Will accept candidates who are actively pursuing their certification. Reimbursement is available for successful certification acquisition.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive technician with outstanding patient and people skills. A positive attitude and outgoing personality is essential!

The Ophthalmic Technician performs patient assessments and technical skills to accurately assess the ophthalmic status of each patient, including emergency procedures and medication administration as appropriate. Educates patients and documents patient interactions. Practices infection control. Contributes to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care. This position is a Part-Time (40 hours per pay period), 8 hour DAY shifts. Position located in Rancho Bernardo. Required Experience/Specialized Skills: * Additional requirements vary according to specialty and duties performed in business unit. Required Certification/Registration: * Current BLS card for Healthcare Professional from American Heart Association (AMA). Preferred Education/Course(s)/Certification/Registration: * One year experience in optometry and in ophthalmology * Ophthalmic Technician Certificate preferred. * Completion of a certified Ophthalmic Technical program preferred.
