Job Summary: An ophthalmic assistant provides a variety of preliminary ocular assessment activities under the direct supervision of the Ophthalmologist/Optometrist.

Increasingly complex patient procedures may be assigned as determined by level of proficiency and experience.

Functions as a member of the practice clinical care delivery team. Maybe required to work in a variety of practice settings and/or locations.

Minimum Requirements: Graduate of a program for Medical Assistant/Administrative Medical Assistant or High School Diploma with equivalent prior ophthalmic experience required. 1 year of medical office or ophthalmic experience. Demonstrates initiative and is able to function independently as well as collaboratively.

Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to change.

Demonstrates time management and organizational skills. Demonstrates a strong customer service and communication skills.

Accepts and recognizes differences among people.

Preferred Qualifications:
Licensure and Certifications: Current BLS (provided during LVPG Orientation) Willing to pursue Certification upon completion of Joint Commission of Allied Health Professionals Organization (JCAHPO) requirements
