Ophthalmic Assistant
Nebraska Medicine is looking for an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our Truhlsen Eye Institute (TEI) team. The Ophthalmic Assistant role offers a dynamic opportunity to provide comprehensive support for an ophthalmologist/optometrist in a clinical setting. You'll ensure smooth patient flow, maintain accurate medical records, and assist with administrative tasks. This role will float between both TEI locations, the main location and Village Pointe.

Shift Details: Ophthalmic Assistant
Full Time, 40 hours per week
First Shift 8:00am - 5:00pm
Float between Main TEI and Village Pointe TEI

Required Qualifications: Ophthalmic Assistant
High school education or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic Assistant course OR completion of one year of post-secondary education in an allied health field OR one year of experience in a healthcare setting required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS) within six months of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
Preferred Qualifications: Ophthalmic Assistant
Prior experience in ophthalmic or optometric office preferred.
Completion of an accredited ophthalmic assistant course preferred.
Certification as an ophthalmic assistant, technician or technologist preferred.
Once certification is achieved, it is required to be maintained.
