This position is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities of production workers in processing materials and manufacturing products. In addition develops and manages continuous improvement projects, EDGE, Five S, Root Cause Analysis processes and PATCH Administration. The Production Supervisor interacts with Sanitation, Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Operations staff to insure the production of products meeting quality standards in a timely fashion.

Job Responsibiliies:

  • Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality and quality of our food products.

  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setups and adjustments to machines. Ensures correct processing, handling, and reporting are effected in all production areas.

  • Studies production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

  • Interprets specifications, procedures, and job orders to workers and assign duties.

  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in work conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and/or improve safety of department or shift.

  • Demonstrated experience and success developing and managing the Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence, EDGE, Five S and Root Cause Analysis processes in a manufacturing organization.

  • Administrate PATCH.

  • Provide guidance and leadership with compliance and training.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple cross-functional projects across a plant.

  • Significant technical skills & troubleshooting capabilities.

  • Proven track record driving and delivering significant operational changes and implementing line level break-through improvements.

  • Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems.

  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforce safety and sanitation regulations, fairly and consistently. Serves as a role model for workers in terms of work ethic, professional image, and conduct in full compliance with all work rules and policies.

  • Regularly provides production data and feedback to employees on performance, quality, and processing changes. Initiates or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals, and document achievements or deficiencies.

  • Provides thorough job training for workers, insuring complete orientation to Company procedures and rules, safety training, and job function instructions; monitors progress frequently to focus on building knowledge and proficiency as well as good work habits.

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Provides and encourages regular communication with employees for their participation in operational matters.

  • Prepares and conducts timely employee performance evaluations according to Company standards.

  • Resolves employee relations problems within the guidelines of Company policies and rules and in conjunction with the Production Manager and the Human Resources department.

  • Maintains time and production records and submit timely payroll data.

  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials or supplies as required.

  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments or shifts.

  • Communicates safety, quality, and food safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Implement, support, and maintain quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs.

  • Incorporates and supports GMPs and plant cleanliness among plant workers.

  • Implements and monitors overall production performance and quality standards and ensure objectives are established, documented, monitored, and reviewed. Ensure non-conformities identified in quality programs are addressed and corrected.

  • Supports, and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety, preventative maintenance programs and legality.

  • Communicates safety, quality, and food safety policies to all employees. Ensures such policies are applied by all employees.

  • Supports and complies with GMPs.

  • Participates in TPM initiatives.

  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree preferred in related field or five to seven years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.

  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.

  • Advanced PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet) and PATCH.

  • Supervision, Safety management, Data Entry Management, Information Analysis, Reporting, Time Management, Equipment Maintenance, and Organizational Skills required.

  • Strong knowledge of all governmental regulations concerning the operations, e.g. OSHA, FDA, HAACP, as well as good manufacturing practices for food processing facilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Familiarity with mechanical functions of all machines/equipment.

  • Proven competency in supervisory activities which require conflict management, developing subordinates, directing subordinates, managing and measuring performance, motivating, building team spirit and morale, and understanding diverse viewpoints.
