Job Title: Sewing Machine Operator

Job Category: Union

Reports To: Department Supervisor

Job Summary:

Operate sewing machines to perform garment sewing operations, such as joining, reinforcing or decorating garment as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Operates the sewing machine in accordance with our procedures
• Control the machine and utilize techniques for safety handling materials
• Replace burred or broken needles and thread the sewing machine as necessary
• Examines final product to ensure accuracy and quality standards.
• Maintains safety awareness in, and around work areas and report potential areas of concern
• Maintain high quality standards, as required
• Performs other duties as required or as instructed.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and/or sit all day and move hands constantly
• Must be able to have good visual skills.
• Light lifting, pushing/pulling are required
• Work near moving parts and high temperatures.
• Occasional overtime are required.
