Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for the execution of all aspects of parenteral manufacturing which includes, but is not limited to, the aseptic filling/lyophilization, compounding, component preparation, terminal sterilization of diluent product and in-process control of sterile pharmaceuticals. The incumbent interacts with QC, QA, Tech services, Maintenance, IT, Materials Management, Product Development and other departments as required. This position is for the 2nd shift with occasional 1st shift work, as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist production management in coordinating process activities to assure efficient, timely and smooth operations.

  • Become proficient at set up, operation of and assessing/resolving minor equipment mechanical problems of all equipment in the Controlled Classified Production areas (A/B, C, D) including but not limited to stopper processor, vial washer, tunnel, capper, filler, autoclaves, VHP pass-thru, small parts washer/dryer and lyophilizer.

  • May provide general or direct supervision to non-exempt employees. A portion of the time may be spent performing individual tasks.

  • Adhere to cGMPs, SOPs, Batch Record Processing Steps and site safety policies

  • Assist supervision with SOP development and review

  • Review manufacturing batch records.

  • Cross train as packaging operator and sanitization technician in order to provide backup if needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates and/or Bachelor's degree preferred or combination of education and work related experience.

  • Minimum two (2) years of pharmaceutical industry or related experience.

  • Demonstrated effective communicating and interpersonal skills.

  • Previous experience working in controlled critical areas (Grade A/B, C, D or ISO5, 7, 8).

  • Ability to stand on feet for up to four hours at a time;

  • Be able to lift, push, and /or pull up to 25 pounds;

  • Be able to independently gown for aseptic processing;

  • Meet minimal visual acuity requirements necessary for quality assessments in a production or packaging environment;

  • Be able to be medically cleared to wear full face tight fitting respirator based on OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard

You will also have ownership of safety, compliance, qualify, and productivity. Essential Responsibilities:As the CNC Programmer / Machinist, you will: * Promote a culture focused on safe machine operations and material handling procedures * Set-up and operate CNC machines to perform 3, 4, and 5 axis machining operations, including, but not limited to, conventional milling/ drilling, fast hole drilling, graphite shaping on metal castings, forgings and bar stock according to specifications and set-up instructions, applying knowledge of machining methods * Study blueprint and set-up instructions to determine machining required, dimensional specifications, work procedures and methods * Determine tool lengths, maintain tool change list and program measuring adjustments * Ability to lead, guide, and train others performing related work * Create and debug CNC machining programs in 3, 4, and 5 axis * Develop work instructions for CNC operations * Provide feedback on tooling design, focusing on ergonomics, quality, and efficiency * Install work holding devices such as blocks and tooling on table of machine using hand tools * Lift work piece on table manually or with other material handling equipment and position and secure work piece on machine table or in holding device * Select and install tooling, place tools in automatic-tool-changer (if required) in sequence specified on process sheet * Record production inspection results in computer data system * Observe numerical displays on control panel and compare with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speed of machining cuts. Check program at start of each shift * Inspect first-run piece, maintain measured dimension list * Record and inspect key dimensions for conformance to specifications using a micrometer and precision dial gauges and using CMM, height gauges, bench layout techniques * Coordinate development part inspection, and data organization * Notify supervisor if machined first piece and production parts do not conform to specifications or of machine malfunction, or of any other unusual problems or conditions arise * Deburr all pieces as per specifications and good machining practice * Troubleshoot production, machine and quality problems * Maintain tools and measuring instruments supplied by company * Maintain company production and quality standards * Observe and lead by example all company safety rules and regulations * Perform, as assigned, other similar and related duties Qualifications/Requirements: * Associate's Degree as a CNC Programmer (or equivalent experience), or CNC Level 3 for minimum of 5 years. * Minimum 1-year prior experience with graphical CAM software ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: * Ability to lift / push / pull at least 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation * Ability to work occasional weekend shifts * Ability to work overtime as required * Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, and safety shoes * Legal Authorization is required.
