Job Summary
The City of Fort Collins Streets Department is looking for an Equipment Operator to work on our Patching and Paving Crews. Our Equipment Operators perform work related to day-to-day operations and functions of the Streets Departments including minor and major construction of streets and alleys; snow and ice removal; and crushing recycling operations. Operators maintain and operate equipment which may include front-end loader, bulldozer, skid steer, dump truck, backhoe, tractor, street sweeper, and paving equipment. This is a full-time, benefited position with an anticipated base salary range of $45,000-$54,000 with opportunities for overtime which is paid at time and a half. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all inclusive.
Operates and maintains equipment which may include front-end loader, bulldozer, skid steer, dump truck, backhoe, farm tractors, pavement marking & sign equipment, street sweeper, paving equipment, mowing or other vegetation management equipment, and other heavy equipment as needed.
Patch broken or eroded pavement; remove debris from roadway.
May construct and maintain pavement markings / signs, and signals and participate in traffic control activities.
Perform snow removal and operate snow removal equipment.
Input daily work data into a computer.
Perform general building maintenance.
May train and oversee other operators or hourly employees.
Shift work and emergency responses activities may be required.
