Operator I - Chemical Operator (3Rd Shift)

Position Description

Job Summary

The Operator I (Chemical Ops) will produce high quality, non-contaminated batches of various grades of polyimide resin for the automotive and aerospace applications. The incumbent will utilize training, written procedures, work routers, written/verbal communication and employ chemical processing equipment in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. The Operator I is required to follow procedures and ensure documentation is accurate and maintained to meet IATF and ISO standards as well as complying with EPA, DEM and local regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health/safety/environmental regulations, as required • Handle raw material and hazardous waste safely and in an environmentally responsible manner • Conduct safety observations and EHS activities as required by our plant EHS program • Keep a clean work environment in accordance with company policy and procedures • Contribute ideas and suggestions on improvement opportunities • Assist in identification of potential aspects and impacts to the environment; participate in activities (such as recycling) to minimize adverse environmental impacts • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment • Work from written procedures and work routers • Follow instructions and procedures carefully • Record data, record and report problems as they arise • Weigh and dispense raw materials • Blend, mill and pulverize finished powder • Report defective material or equipment problems to supervisor or engineer, as directed • Ensure chemical containers are labeled with contents and hazard(s); comply with MSDS • Other duties as assigned

Required: High School or equivalent Ability to work effectively in a self-directed team setting and ability to solve problems Unflagging adherence to safety and environmental standards Preferred: Trade school or Associate Degree 6 months experience working in a manufacturing environment

This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs./week * 52wks)) for this position, is $41,100 to $50,300. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee. Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include: • Shift Differentials (i.e., Hourly Rate plus 2nd Shift Differential of $1.50/ hr.; Hourly Rate plus 3rd Shift Differential of $2.50 / hr.) • Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
