As a Global Security Operations Center Operator, you will be directly responsible for the dispatching and coordination of security responses to all activities and incidents occurring at the client's various facilities. The GSOC Operator uses various computer systems to monitor communications, alarm systems, and cameras for multiple locations simultaneously. The GSOC Operator is also responsible for the recognition and proper escalation of critical and unusual events to the client's management team and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Monitor all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems

  • Serve as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department

  • Handle (without delay) complaints and unusual/critical event information to Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director

  • Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine, and unusual, events occurring on, or near, the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods)

  • Control and monitor the two-way communication systems, to include dispatching security officers to locations

  • Complete "Task work orders" for all reported maintenance needs

  • Inform (without delay) the Shift Supervisor I Account Manager of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment, or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems

  • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras, and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security/life safety system alarms

  • Answer, and respond, to events and situations received over regular, and emergency, phones and intercoms

  • Speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following

  • Associate's Degree or higher in any discipline

  • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard

  • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets

  • Meaningful and verifiable work history

  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Attention to detail

  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Basic geographical knowledge and the ability to interpret maps and blueprints

  • Possess a high level of integrity and demonstrate an assertive yet professional attitude in the handling of all tasks and responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on working as part of a team

  • Comfortable with high tech work environment, with various software systems running on multiple displays and willingness to learn new technology tools and innovations

  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Facebook is seeking an experienced individual to manage Infrastructure Data Center Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at our U.S. based sites. Comprehensive EHS technical expertise as well as excellent communication and program management skills are required for this position. This role requires extensive experience in life safety, incident reporting, environmental regulations, and Data Center related Risk Assessments from an operations standpoint. This position is full-time and located in Northern Virginia or one of the East Region Data Center locations. Frequent travel is required to visit and support the U.S. Data Centers in the assigned Region.
