Job Introduction:

As a Global Security Operations Center Operator, you will be directly responsible for the dispatching and coordination of security responses to all activities and incidents occurring at the client's various facilities. The GSOC Operator uses various computer systems to monitor communications, alarm systems, and cameras for multiple locations simultaneously. The GSOC Operator is also responsible for the recognition and proper escalation of critical and unusual events to the client's management team and other stakeholders as appropriate.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Monitor all security, communications, and fire/life safety systems within the designated region via the provided monitoring systems

  • Serve as the liaison between all departments and the Security Department

  • Handle (without delay) complaints and unusual/critical event information to Shift Supervisor, Account Manager, and Security Director

  • Directly responsible for the accurate documentation of routine, and unusual, events occurring on, or near, the facilities (accomplished via shift reports, pass-downs logs, incident reports, incident reports logs, or other established methods)

  • Control and monitor the two-way communication systems, to include dispatching security officers to locations

  • Complete "Task work orders" for all reported maintenance needs

  • Inform (without delay) the Shift Supervisor I Account Manager of any missing, damaged, or inoperative equipment, or communications, alarm, CCTV, or other systems

  • Proactively monitor all surveillance cameras, and CCTV remote viewer programs. Monitors and responds to all security/life safety system alarms

  • Answer, and respond, to events and situations received over regular, and emergency, phones and intercoms

  • Speak clearly, give direction, and provide guidance to employees and security staff during emergencies

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to meet and maintain any applicable state licensing requirements

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following

  • Associate's Degree or higher in any discipline

  • Service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard

  • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets

  • Meaningful and verifiable work history

  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Active listening skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively

  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Attention to detail


  • Must be at least 21 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States

  • To qualify for this position you must possess:

  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public

  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Typing speed minimum 40 wpm

  • Must have access to reliable transportation

  • Ability to multi-task, discerns patterns in detail

  • Ability to think through problems for logical solutions, and remain calm and professional under stress

  • Ability to think critically and make informed decisions with minimal oversight

  • Ability to give direction, and provide guidance, to employees and security staff during emergencies and communicate effectively and clearly in a high volume work environment

  • Ability to understand an follow procedures and job aids

  • Basic geographical knowledge and the ability to interpret maps and blueprints

  • Possess a high level of integrity and demonstrate an assertive yet professional attitude in the handling of all tasks and responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on working as part of a team

  • Comfortable with high tech work environment, with various software systems running on multiple displays and willingness to learn new technology tools and innovations

  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law

  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Facebook is seeking an experienced individual to manage Infrastructure Data Center Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at our U.S. based sites. Comprehensive EHS technical expertise as well as excellent communication and program management skills are required for this position. This role requires extensive experience in life safety, incident reporting, environmental regulations, and Data Center related Risk Assessments from an operations standpoint. This position is full-time and located in Northern Virginia or one of the East Region Data Center locations. Frequent travel is required to visit and support the U.S. Data Centers in the assigned Region. RESPONSIBILITIES * Provide EHS technical expertise to support our EHS Coordinators located at our Data Centers to sustain excellence in our growing world class workforce Oversee and execute EHS standardization opportunities Strategize where global standardization is possible and where Best Management Practices should be applied Preparation and/or detailed review of EHS operational procedures and training materials Development of global EHS programs and ensuring rollout and execution at sites Work with the global EHS program staff and the Site EHS Coordinators to continue development of an IDC EHS Global Training Plan and Data Center-specific procedures Assess and evaluate EHS related processes and day-to-day activities at the sites to ensure promotion and adoption of best practices and compliance with protocols and standards Review participate and coach teams in effective incident reporting and investigation to ensure appropriate root-cause analysis has been conducted and corrective actions have been implemented Develop and track IDC EHS program goals and represent IDC EHS to leadership Communicate with Regional leaders to align on EHS priorities and initiatives Develop tools to support site execution of EHS programs Train and onboard Site EHS Coordinators at future data center regional sites Provide EHS expertise to diverse internal teams, including our Site EHS Coordinators, logistics and engineering teams Participate in safety committee meetings and take steps to address or mitigate systemic or global EHS issues Conduct and review risk assessments using industry-best safety engineering and other risk management principles Conduct risk assessment for new technologies (i.e., hardware and equipment) and designs for our data center sites Ability to travel as needed (50% at times) domestically and internationally MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 10+ years of EHS experience BS degree in EHS, Environmental engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or associated degree Knowledge of environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations that impact the company Experience interpreting the regulatory standards and draft/develop functional EHS Operational Standards Experience mentoring, coaching, supporting and collaborating with Site EHS Coordinators Experience building working relationships with Site Leadership groups and EHS Coordinators and assist in EHS program implementation Experience creating EHS learning events and facilitate EHS training Experience in engineering design review with experience providing EHS recommendations and feedback based on regulatory standards Experience with ISO14001 and OSHA standards Experience managing multiple projects and coordinate with internal staff and external
